Client Services Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client services manager in California?
Most client services manager roles in California require a bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field. No state-issued license applies to this role. California employers typically look for candidates who have progressed through account coordinator or customer success associate roles, built measurable retention or upsell results, and developed familiarity with enterprise CRM tools. Certifications from recognized professional bodies such as the Customer Success Association can strengthen a candidacy, particularly for roles at larger technology or financial services firms.
Which companies hire client services managers in California?
Companies currently hiring client services managers in California include Tatari, Andersen, and BPM, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. California's concentration of enterprise software, financial services, and healthcare organizations means openings appear across a wide range of industries and company sizes throughout the state.
Which California cities have the most client services manager jobs?
The cities with the most client services manager openings in California are Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. Los Angeles and San Francisco drive the bulk of demand through their dense concentrations of financial services firms, technology companies, and healthcare networks, while San Diego contributes steadily through its life sciences and defense-adjacent enterprise clients that require dedicated relationship management teams.
Are there remote client services manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 62% of client services manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on calls, email, and digital account reviews rather than on-site visits. Strategic account management and client success functions at technology and SaaS companies tend to be the most consistently remote-eligible segments.
How can I get hired as a client services manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a customer success associate or account coordinator role at a California-based technology or financial services company. Large employers such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Pacific Premier Bank regularly hire into associate-level client teams that feed directly into manager tracks. Moving laterally from inside sales, project coordination, or a customer support team at the same company is also common. A demonstrated history of client interaction, even in a support context, paired with Salesforce or HubSpot proficiency, gives candidates a measurable edge in California hiring.
