Clinical Care Coordinator Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical care coordinator in Maryland?
Most clinical care coordinator roles in Maryland require an active clinical license, most commonly an RN license issued by the Maryland Board of Nursing, though positions rooted in social work may require licensure through the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners. A bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, or a related health field is the standard starting point. Many employers in Maryland also expect some direct patient care experience before moving into a coordination role, and a care management certification strengthens any application.
Which companies hire clinical care coordinators in Maryland?
Employers hiring clinical care coordinators in Maryland right now include Amedisys, Medicalincs, and The Coordinating Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Maryland's concentration of large integrated health systems and managed care organizations means hiring tends to be steady rather than project-based, with openings across inpatient, outpatient, and community health settings throughout the state.
Which Maryland cities have the most clinical care coordinator jobs?
Bowie, Baltimore, and Glen Burnie account for the largest share of clinical care coordinator openings in Maryland. Baltimore dominates due to its dense cluster of major hospital systems and academic medical centers, while Rockville and the broader Montgomery County corridor reflect the concentration of managed care organizations and outpatient specialty practices serving the Washington D.C. metro area.
Are there remote clinical care coordinator jobs in Maryland?
Yes, but they're limited. About 50% of clinical care coordinator openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which is lower than desk-based fields given how much of the role involves direct patient interaction and in-person care transitions. The portions of the role most likely to be done remotely are telephonic care management, utilization review, and post-discharge follow-up coordination for managed care and insurance-based employers.
How can I get hired as a clinical care coordinator in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a bedside or direct care role, since Maryland's large systems like the University of Maryland Medical System and Johns Hopkins Health System routinely promote medical-surgical nurses, discharge planners, and patient navigators into coordinator positions. Completing a case management certification course while still in a clinical role signals readiness to hiring managers. Community health worker and care transition aide positions at Maryland's Federally Qualified Health Centers also serve as direct stepping stones into coordination roles without requiring prior coordinator experience.
Where can I find and apply to clinical care coordinator jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to clinical care coordinator jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings as they become available. Search by city or role type to see what fits your background, then apply directly to the positions that match.
