Clinical Care Coordinator Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical care coordinator in New York?
Most clinical care coordinator roles in New York require either a registered nurse license issued by the New York State Education Department or a licensed master social worker credential, depending on the employer and setting. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, or health administration and at least one year of direct clinical experience are competitive. Earning a case management credential such as the CCM strengthens your candidacy considerably with New York hospital systems and managed care plans.
Which companies hire clinical care coordinators in New York?
Employers hiring clinical care coordinators in New York right now include Essen Health Care, Columbia University, and The Jewish Board, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's large integrated health systems and Medicaid managed care organizations are consistently among the most active hirers of this role statewide.
Which New York cities have the most clinical care coordinator jobs?
Bronx, Brooklyn, and New York have the most clinical care coordinator openings in New York. New York City leads because of its concentration of major hospital systems, managed care plans, and behavioral health organizations, while Buffalo and Albany generate steady demand through regional medical centers, state government health programs, and growing outpatient networks that anchor hiring in those metros.
Are there remote clinical care coordinator jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based roles, since the position often involves direct patient contact, facility rounds, or in-person care team meetings. About 31% of clinical care coordinator openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. The functions most likely to be performed remotely are telephonic case management, utilization review, and care plan documentation for managed care or insurance-affiliated employers.
How can I get hired as a clinical care coordinator in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into care coordination from a bedside or front-line clinical role such as medical assistant, patient navigator, or home health aide, which are all common feeder positions at New York City Health + Hospitals and Northwell Health. Many large New York systems post entry-level care coordinator associate or care manager trainee titles specifically designed for candidates transitioning out of direct care. Completing a New York State-approved case management training program or pursuing the CCM credential while working in an adjacent role gives candidates a measurable edge.
