Clinical Care Coordinator Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical care coordinator in California?
Most clinical care coordinator positions in California require either an active Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing or a clinical social worker credential through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, depending on the employer's focus. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, or health care administration and some direct patient care or case management experience are most competitive. Earning a Certified Case Manager credential from the Commission for Case Manager Certification strengthens any application.
Which companies hire clinical care coordinators in California?
Employers hiring clinical care coordinators in California right now include Clinica Sierra Vista, Fresenius Medical Care, and North East Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's dense concentration of integrated health systems, large medical groups, and managed care plans means hiring is active across both major metros and regional markets throughout the state.
Which California cities have the most clinical care coordinator jobs?
Bakersfield, Burlingame, and Carmichael have the most clinical care coordinator openings in California. Los Angeles leads because of the sheer scale of its hospital systems, managed care organizations, and county health infrastructure, while San Francisco and San Diego concentrate demand through academic medical centers, large integrated systems, and regional insurance networks that run active care management programs.
Are there remote clinical care coordinator jobs in California?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely administrative roles because many positions require on-site patient interaction, facility rounding, or in-person care team collaboration. About 6% of clinical care coordinator openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote options most common in utilization review, telephonic case management, and insurance prior-authorization roles.
How can I get hired as a clinical care coordinator in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a direct patient care role first, such as a medical assistant, patient navigator, or care advocate position at a large California health system, then moving laterally once you have exposure to care coordination workflows. Kaiser Permanente and Dignity Health run structured new-employee development programs that move clinical support staff into coordinator tracks. Completing a case management certification course and gaining familiarity with Medi-Cal managed care processes gives candidates a concrete edge with California employers.
Where can I find and apply to clinical care coordinator jobs in California?
You can find and apply to clinical care coordinator jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings from employers actively hiring right now. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and preferred location, and apply directly.
