Clinical Research Nurse Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical research nurse in Arizona?
You must hold an active registered nurse license through the Arizona State Board of Nursing, which requires completing an accredited nursing program and passing the NCLEX-RN. From there, most Arizona employers look for clinical experience in a relevant area such as oncology or cardiovascular care before hiring into a research role. Earning a certification like the CCRP through the Society of Clinical Research Associates strengthens your candidacy significantly in this state's competitive trial environment.
Which companies hire clinical research nurses in Arizona?
Arizona clinical research nurse roles are posted by Banner Health, University of Arizona, and HonorHealth and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arizona's concentration of large integrated health systems and an active biopharmaceutical corridor in the Phoenix metro means both hospital-based and industry-sponsored trial sites are hiring consistently throughout the year.
Which Arizona cities have the most clinical research nurse jobs?
Phoenix, Tucson, and Scottsdale account for the most clinical research nurse openings in Arizona. Phoenix leads because of its density of major health systems and academic trial sites, while Tucson draws on the University of Arizona Health Sciences research infrastructure, and Scottsdale's concentration of specialty clinics and private oncology practices sustains steady demand outside the major hospital networks.
Are there remote clinical research nurse jobs in Arizona?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinical research nursing requires direct patient contact for consent, assessments, and specimen collection, so most roles are on-site or hybrid at best. About 25% of clinical research nurse openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to involve regulatory coordination, data review, or sponsor-side monitoring rather than direct patient care.
How can I get hired as a clinical research nurse in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new graduate or research assistant roles at Banner Health or Mayo Clinic Arizona, both of which run structured onboarding programs that introduce nurses to trial protocols. Nurses transitioning from oncology floors, infusion units, or specialty clinics have the strongest lateral footing since Arizona's trial sites prioritize therapeutic area familiarity. Completing a GCP training course and volunteering for IRB or quality improvement committees at your current employer signals readiness to hiring coordinators.
Where can I find and apply to clinical research nurse jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to clinical research nurse jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty area and apply directly to the employers posting them.
