At Axon, we're on a mission to Protect Life. We're explorers, pursuing society's most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.
Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you'll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.
Your Impact
As Axon's Senior Director, Business Technology (IT CRM), you'll lead one of the most important technology platforms in the company. Salesforce is the backbone of how Axon sells, quotes, bills, and serves customers — spanning Sales Cloud, CPQ, Billing, Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, Agentforce, and deep integrations across our business technology ecosystem.
You'll help guide Axon's end-to-end Quote-to-Cash transformation — modernizing how the business moves from opportunity to quote to order to revenue, and unlocking the velocity and accuracy the next phase of Axon's growth depends on. You'll also set the strategy for how AI is integrated into the platform to make sellers, agents, and operations teams dramatically more productive.
This is a senior leadership role for someone who has scaled Salesforce platforms in high-growth B2B environments. You'll set the multi-year platform strategy, build and lead a team of architects, developers, and admins, and partner directly with executive stakeholders across Sales, RevOps, Finance, Customer Success, and IT. You'll be accountable for the platform's technical excellence, delivery rigor, and business outcomes — and for building the team and operating model to sustain both as Axon continues to grow.
What You'll Do
Location: Hybrid from one of our US offices (Boston, Scottsdale AZ, NYC, San Francisco)
In Office Expectations: 4 days per week (Tuesday-Friday)
Office Locations:
- Own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for Axon's Salesforce platform across Sales Cloud, CPQ / Revenue Cloud, Billing, Experience Cloud, and connected enterprise systems
- Lead Axon's Quote-to-Cash transformation — modernizing the end-to-end flow from opportunity to quote to order to revenue, and driving measurable improvement in velocity and accuracy
- Set the strategy for AI on the Salesforce platform — Agentforce, Einstein, and embedded LLM-powered workflows and custom applications that make sellers, agents, and operations teams meaningfully more productive
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, governance, security posture, and DevOps maturity across the Salesforce footprint
- Lead and grow a team of managers and individual contributors — architects, developers, admins, and business analysts — including hiring, coaching, performance management, and org design
- Partner with executive stakeholders across GTM, Finance, and Operations to translate business priorities into a roadmap to drive measurable outcomes
- Manage the platform budget, vendor relationships, SI partnerships, and license strategy — including RFP/RFI processes, contract negotiation, and total cost of ownership
- Own the relationship with Salesforce as a vendor — influencing product roadmaps, navigating contract cycles, and managing escalations
- Define the metrics and dashboards that track platform health, delivery performance, and business outcomes
- Represent Salesforce in executive forums, steering committees, and cross-functional planning cycles
- Build a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and customer obsession within the team
What You Bring
- 12+ years in enterprise technology, with 5+ years leading Salesforce platform teams at the Director level or above
- Demonstrated experience scaling Salesforce orgs in high-growth B2B environments — with CPQ and Billing in production
- Track record of leading Quote-to-Cash transformations end to end — opportunity through revenue recognition
- Experience applying AI on the Salesforce platform — Agentforce, Einstein, or comparable LLM-powered capabilities — to drive real productivity gains
- Track record of building and managing teams of architects, developers, admins, and analysts, including managing managers
- Deep technical fluency in Salesforce architecture — able to challenge and direct senior architects credibly
- Broad technical fluency beyond Salesforce — comfortable making informed architectural decisions across integration patterns, data platforms, identity, and adjacent SaaS systems
- Strong grasp of modern enterprise architecture concepts — APIs and event-driven integration, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data warehousing, and security and identity at scale
- Proven success partnering with C-suite and SVP-level GTM and Finance stakeholders
- Experience owning multi-million-dollar platform budgets, vendor negotiations, and SI partner relationships
- Discipline around cost/benefit analysis, RFP/RFI processes, and translating business needs into sustainable technology decisions
- Strong delivery and operating rigor — roadmap, OKRs, release governance, incident management
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Business Development Jobs at Axon Jobs
Frame your BD experience around public safety verticals
Axon's Business Development roles sit at the intersection of technology sales and mission-driven markets. Reframe retail or SaaS BD experience around loss prevention, enterprise procurement cycles, or government contract exposure to signal direct relevance to Axon's core customer base.
Confirm H-1B eligibility before your first interview
H-1B petitions for Business Development roles require a specialty occupation determination. Verify that your degree field aligns with the specific BD role you're targeting at Axon before you reach the offer stage, since mismatches can delay or complicate USCIS approval.
Search Axon's open BD roles on Migrate Mate
Axon posts Business Development positions across multiple verticals and regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter Axon's open roles by function and sponsorship history, so you're applying to positions where visa support has been extended before.
Raise sponsorship timing during the offer negotiation stage
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, clarify with Axon's HR team whether a cap-exempt filing or a status extension applies to bridge the gap.
Build a credentials packet specific to specialty occupation
Prepare a portfolio that connects your Business Development responsibilities to a specific academic discipline, such as business administration or marketing. Include a detailed job duties letter from any prior employer that mirrors the analytical and strategic scope of Axon's BD roles.
Use DOL LCA disclosure data to benchmark your offer
Before accepting an offer, cross-reference the prevailing wage level for your Business Development title and location against DOL's public LCA disclosure database. Axon must certify your wage meets the prevailing wage threshold, and knowing the tiers protects your negotiating position.

Does Axon sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Axon has sponsored H-1B visas for Business Development roles. Sponsorship is not automatic for every position, so it's worth confirming with the recruiter early in the process. Roles that meet the USCIS specialty occupation standard, typically requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field, are the strongest candidates for H-1B support.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Axon?
Applications go through Axon's careers portal, where BD roles are listed by region and product vertical. Tailoring your resume to reflect enterprise sales cycles, partner development, or public sector market expansion will strengthen your application. You can also browse Axon's current Business Development openings filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate before applying directly.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development roles at Axon?
H-1B is the primary visa category Axon uses for Business Development professionals requiring sponsorship. If you're already on an F-1 with OPT or STEM OPT, you can begin work immediately and transition to H-1B sponsorship during the annual cap registration period. L-1 transfers may apply if you're relocating from an Axon entity abroad with relevant BD experience.
What qualifications does Axon expect for Business Development roles?
Axon's BD roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with demonstrated experience in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or market expansion. For H-1B purposes, the degree must align specifically with the job duties. Experience in SaaS, public safety technology, or retail loss prevention is frequently cited in Axon's BD job descriptions.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship process when targeting Axon?
If you're cap-subject, USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. Align your Axon offer timeline to allow at least four to six weeks before the April filing deadline for your employer to prepare the petition. If you miss the cap window, discuss bridging options with Axon HR, such as an OPT extension or a change of status from a cap-exempt position.
