Verify Your NCLEX-PN Before Applying
CHRISTUS Health requires active U.S. LPN licensure before extending an offer. Pass the NCLEX-PN and secure state licensure in Texas, Louisiana, or whichever state the role is based in before submitting your application.
Target CHRISTUS Facilities With Ongoing LPN Demand
CHRISTUS operates hospitals, continuing care facilities, and clinics across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico. Focus your search on their long-term care and inpatient units, where LPN hiring tends to be most consistent and sponsorship more common.
Browse Open LPN Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter CHRISTUS Health LPN postings by location and visa sponsorship status. This saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship isn't on the table and helps you prioritize the facilities most likely to file.
Understand the EB-3 Filing Timeline for Nurses
Employer-sponsored Green Card pathways for LPNs typically require PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition. This process can take one to two years before you receive work authorization, so start conversations early.
Ask HR Directly About H-1B Filing Eligibility
Not every CHRISTUS facility processes H-1B petitions the same way. During the offer stage, confirm with their HR or legal team whether the specific facility and role qualify, since some sites handle sponsorship centrally while others do not.
Prepare a Credential Evaluation From a NACES Member
If you trained outside the U.S., get your nursing credentials evaluated by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services member organization. CHRISTUS and most state boards require this documentation before they'll process licensure or advance your sponsorship paperwork.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does CHRISTUS Health sponsor H-1B visas for Licensed Practical Nurses?
Yes, CHRISTUS Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Licensed Practical Nurses. Sponsorship availability varies by facility and role, so it's not guaranteed across every open position. Your best approach is to confirm sponsorship intent directly with the hiring team during the interview process, before reaching the offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for Licensed Practical Nurse roles at CHRISTUS Health?
CHRISTUS Health primarily uses H-1B and EB-3 pathways for internationally sponsored LPN roles. The H-1B covers temporary employment, while the EB-3 is an employer-sponsored immigrant visa that leads to a Green Card. Some nurses also enter on TN visas if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship and meet USMCA professional requirements.
What qualifications and experience does CHRISTUS Health expect for Licensed Practical Nurse roles?
You'll need an active LPN license in the state where the role is located, completion of an accredited practical nursing program, and current BLS certification. Most postings prefer at least one year of clinical experience, particularly in acute care, long-term care, or a specialty unit. Foreign-trained nurses must also provide a credential evaluation from a recognized evaluation service.
How do I apply for Licensed Practical Nurse jobs at CHRISTUS Health?
Applications go through the CHRISTUS Health careers portal, where you can filter by location and role type. To find LPN openings specifically flagged for visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to browse current CHRISTUS postings in one place. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific facility and unit, since clinical environments at CHRISTUS vary significantly by site.
How do I understand the timeline from job offer to work authorization at CHRISTUS Health?
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS standard processing runs several months, and premium processing is available to accelerate adjudication. For EB-3, the process is longer: PERM labor certification with the DOL typically takes six to eighteen months, followed by USCIS petition review. Factor these timelines into your planning, especially if your current status has a near-term expiration date.
