Verify Your State Nursing License First
Pennsylvania requires LPNs to hold an active state license before starting work. Start the NCLEX-PN endorsement process early, as interstate verification through NURSYS can take several weeks and must be complete before any visa petition is filed.
Target WellSpan's High-Volume Inpatient Units
WellSpan consistently posts LPN openings across its acute care and long-term care facilities. Focus applications on roles in med-surg, behavioral health, and post-acute settings, where staffing needs are ongoing and sponsorship conversations are more routine for hiring managers.
Understand How EB-3 Sponsorship Works for Nurses
Most LPN green card sponsorships go through the EB-3 category, which requires a PERM labor certification filed by your employer with the DOL. Expect a multi-year process and confirm during the offer stage whether WellSpan's HR team manages PERM filings in-house or through outside counsel.
Ask About Cap-Exempt H-1B Filing Early
Nonprofits and qualifying healthcare systems may file H-1B petitions year-round outside the annual cap. Confirm WellSpan Health's cap-exempt status with your recruiter before the offer stage so you understand whether your H-1B timeline is tied to the April lottery or not.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open LPN Roles
Sorting through hospital system job boards manually is slow. Use Migrate Mate to filter WellSpan Health's open Licensed Practical Nurse positions by visa sponsorship type, so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Align Your Credentials with WellSpan's Documentation Requirements
WellSpan uses E-Verify for employment eligibility. Before your start date, gather your CGFNS credential evaluation, IELTS or TOEFL scores if required, and any foreign transcript translations so HR can complete I-9 verification and initiate your petition without delays.

Find Licensed Practical Nurse at WellSpan Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WellSpan Health sponsor H-1B visas for Licensed Practical Nurses?
Yes, WellSpan Health has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles including Licensed Practical Nurses. As a qualifying healthcare organization, WellSpan may be eligible to file H-1B petitions outside the standard annual cap, which means sponsorship isn't limited to a single filing window each year. Confirm cap-exempt status directly with the recruiter during the offer process.
How do I apply for Licensed Practical Nurse jobs at WellSpan Health?
You can browse and apply for Licensed Practical Nurse openings at WellSpan Health directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. WellSpan typically requires an active Pennsylvania LPN license, so completing your state licensure endorsement before submitting applications strengthens your candidacy significantly.
Which visa types does WellSpan Health commonly use for Licensed Practical Nurse roles?
WellSpan Health sponsors several visa categories for LPN positions, including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), J-1, F-1 OPT and CPT, and employment-based Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. For long-term sponsorship, EB-3 is the most common route for LPNs, as it covers skilled workers in positions requiring at least two years of training or experience.
What qualifications does WellSpan Health expect for Licensed Practical Nurse candidates seeking sponsorship?
WellSpan typically expects candidates to hold an active Pennsylvania LPN license or be in the process of obtaining one through endorsement, along with a CGFNS credential evaluation for internationally educated nurses. Relevant inpatient or post-acute care experience strengthens applications. English proficiency documentation may also be required depending on your country of education and the specific role.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an LPN role at WellSpan Health?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. H-1B processing with USCIS can take three to six months, or faster with premium processing. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process involving DOL labor certification before USCIS adjudication. F-1 OPT authorization typically takes up to 90 days from your program end date, so applying well in advance of your target start date is essential.
