About The Team
DoorDash Labs is an independent team within DoorDash. We explore robotics, drones, and automation to transform last mile logistics in the long term. If you want to work on commercializing autonomy, drones, and robotics in a service used by millions of people, then we want to talk to you!
About The Role
We’re hiring a Materials Program Manager to support aircraft builds as DoorDash Air scales to higher-volume production. This role will own clear-to-build planning, including demand planning, shortage management, inventory allocation, purchasing coordination, and build readiness. You will help define the processes and operating cadence that allow the team to move from reactive material tracking to a scalable production supply chain. You will report into the Supply Chain Lead on our DoorDash Air Supply Chain team.
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…
- Lead material readiness for aircraft builds by translating BOMs, build schedules, inventory, supplier lead times, and open orders into a clear build readiness plan.
- Own shortage management and clear-to-build status across prototype, validation, and production builds, including risk tracking and escalation.
- Partner with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and finance to align material availability with program timing and budget needs.
- Build scalable processes for inventory accuracy, allocation, receiving, labeling, kitting, and build readiness as the program grows.
- Identify long-lead and high-risk materials early, recommend mitigation plans, and help reduce last-minute expediting and build delays.
We’re Excited About You Because…
- You have 5+ years of experience in materials planning, supply planning, production planning, procurement operations, inventory control, or equivalent experience.
- You have experience owning material readiness or clear-to-build planning for hardware, manufacturing, robotics, drones, or equivalent programs.
- You are comfortable working with complex bills of materials, supplier lead times, purchase orders, inventory, demand forecasts, and build schedules.
- You can operate with ambiguity, build structure where processes are still developing, and communicate risks clearly to cross-functional partners.
- You are comfortable working hands-on with physical inventory and systems, including receiving, labeling, organizing, tracking, and preparing materials for builds.

Frame your credentials around cross-functional delivery
DoorDash Program Manager roles involve coordinating between engineering, operations, and product teams simultaneously. When preparing your resume, highlight end-to-end program ownership across multiple stakeholders, not just project execution within a single team.
Target roles aligned with DoorDash's logistics verticals
DoorDash hires Program Managers across merchant growth, last-mile delivery, and platform infrastructure. Applying to roles in verticals where you have direct domain experience, such as marketplace operations or supply chain coordination, sharpens your fit and accelerates recruiter interest.
Clarify your visa type early in the process
DoorDash sponsors multiple visa categories for this role. Before your first recruiter screen, know which status you hold and what timeline applies, whether that's F-1 OPT's 90-day unemployment limit, a TN's annual renewal cycle, or H-1B cap timing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter DoorDash openings by visa type
DoorDash posts Program Manager roles across multiple teams at different times. Search Migrate Mate to surface active openings filtered specifically to your visa category, so you're applying to positions where your authorization is already confirmed as eligible.
Anticipate the LCA step when negotiating your start date
Before USCIS can approve an H-1B petition for your role, DoorDash's legal team must first get a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL. Build at least two to four weeks into your expected start date to account for that filing window.
Document program outcomes with quantifiable business impact
DoorDash's hiring bar for Program Managers emphasizes measurable delivery: reduced cycle times, launched products, or scaled operations. For USCIS specialty occupation purposes, documented evidence of degree-level complexity in your past work also strengthens your petition file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does DoorDash sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, DoorDash sponsors H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. The company's legal team handles the full petition process, including the Labor Condition Application filing with the DOL and the I-129 petition with USCIS. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, timing your application around the April lottery window is essential. Cap-exempt candidates, such as those transferring from a qualifying institution, can file year-round.
Which visa types does DoorDash commonly sponsor for Project Program Manager roles?
DoorDash sponsors a range of visa categories for this function, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican professionals under the USMCA, and F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways are also supported, typically initiated after candidates are established in the role.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at DoorDash?
Start by browsing open Project Program Manager positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces DoorDash roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Once you identify a relevant opening, tailor your application to highlight cross-functional program ownership and measurable delivery outcomes. DoorDash's interview process typically includes a recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation, and a structured panel covering program execution, stakeholder management, and operational problem-solving.
What qualifications does DoorDash expect for Project Program Manager roles?
DoorDash generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, business, or operations, combined with demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-team programs in a technology environment. Familiarity with agile or scaled delivery frameworks matters, as does a track record of driving programs from scoping through launch. Roles tied to logistics or marketplace products may require domain-specific background.
How do I manage timing if I'm on F-1 OPT and targeting DoorDash?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your work authorization is time-limited, and the 90-day unemployment rule applies from the date your OPT period begins. STEM OPT extension gives eligible candidates up to 24 additional months, but the H-1B cap lottery in early April is the critical milestone. Starting your DoorDash application process several months before your OPT expiration gives the company enough runway to file your H-1B petition on time.
