Align your credentials to dealership operations
Group 1 Automotive's manufacturing work is rooted in dealership service and parts workflows, not factory production lines. Frame your resume around vehicle service processes, parts inventory management, or quality control in automotive retail environments before you apply.
Verify your visa type supports manufacturing roles
H-1B sponsorship for manufacturing positions typically requires a specialty occupation with a direct degree tie-in. If your role skews toward technician or parts logistics work, confirm your job duties map to a qualifying specialty before assuming H-1B is your path.
Target Group 1's highest-volume dealership markets
Group 1 operates concentrated dealership clusters in Texas, Oklahoma, and the UK. Manufacturing-adjacent openings appear most frequently in these markets, so filtering your job search by those regions improves your odds of finding open roles with active hiring budgets.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings faster
Manufacturing roles at dealership groups fill quickly and aren't always listed on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Group 1 Automotive openings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed, not assumed.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Understanding prevailing wage requirements for your specific manufacturing job title and region helps you move faster once you have an offer and avoids delays from wage level mismatches.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer conversation
Dealership groups sometimes sponsor for initial visa status but not Green Card sponsorship through PERM. Ask directly whether Group 1's sponsorship includes long-term permanent residency support for manufacturing roles, so you know what immigration runway you're working with before signing.

Find Manufacturing at Group 1 Automotive JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Group 1 Automotive sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Group 1 Automotive has sponsored H-1B visas for workers in manufacturing-related functions. Whether a specific manufacturing role qualifies depends on whether the position meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard, meaning it requires a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. Roles in quality control, engineering support, or technical operations are more likely to qualify than general technician or parts handling positions.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing roles at Group 1 Automotive?
Group 1 Automotive has a track record of sponsoring H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for workers in manufacturing functions. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates in engineering or operations programs. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Each visa type has different eligibility requirements and duration limits.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Manufacturing jobs at Group 1 Automotive?
Group 1 Automotive's manufacturing roles typically require backgrounds in automotive service operations, parts logistics, or production process support within a dealership environment. Technical certifications, hands-on experience with vehicle systems, or degrees in mechanical engineering or operations management strengthen your candidacy. Familiarity with dealership management systems and inventory workflows is a practical advantage in this context specifically.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Group 1 Automotive?
You can browse and apply for Manufacturing roles at Group 1 Automotive through Migrate Mate, which filters openings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you only see roles where international candidates are actively considered. When applying, tailor your resume to Group 1's dealership operations context rather than traditional factory manufacturing, and be prepared to confirm your visa type and work authorization timeline early in the process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing role at Group 1 Automotive?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. F-1 OPT authorization from USCIS can take up to 90 days, so applying early is essential. H-1B petitions follow a fixed annual cycle with an April filing window and an October 1 start date, meaning you may wait several months between offer and start. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border, making it one of the faster paths if you qualify.
