SALARY
Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 per year
A BIT ABOUT US
Advancements in AI and drug discovery are creating more candidate drugs than the industry can progress because of the high cost and time of clinical trials. Recognizing that this development bottleneck may ultimately limit the number of new medicines that can reach patients, this organization has built technology platforms, processes, and capabilities to accelerate all aspects of drug development and clinical trials. The organization partners, acquires, or in-licenses drugs from pharma companies, research organizations, and biotechs to develop programs past clinical proof of concept and beyond, ultimately helping to bring new medicines to patients.
WHY JOIN US?
You'll play a central role in shaping the company's data platform by contributing to ingestion frameworks, orchestration patterns (using Dagster or alternatives like Prefect or Airflow), and dbt-based modeling strategies. This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who loves building clean pipelines, understands metadata and observability, and enjoys making data discoverable and trustworthy for analytics, operations, and product use cases.
- Competitive salary and total compensation ranges based on experience
- Work on site in NYC or Boston, or up to 100% from home anywhere in the US.
- Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage for individuals and families

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Data Engineer Jobs at Jobot Jobs
Clarify end-client sponsorship before applying
Jobot places candidates with client companies who ultimately control sponsorship decisions. Before your first interview, ask your recruiter whether the end client has sponsored visa holders before and confirm they're prepared to file an LCA with DOL.
Align your resume to billable Data Engineer skills
Jobot's clients typically need engineers with specific, demonstrable tool sets like Spark, dbt, Snowflake, or Databricks. Frame your resume around technologies tied to the job posting, since recruiters screen for billable fit, not general data experience.
Get your credentials evaluated before outreach
If your degree is from outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before a client company's HR team requests it. Delays in evaluation can stall LCA filing and push back your start date by weeks.
Use Migrate Mate to find Jobot Data Engineer openings
Jobot posts Data Engineer roles across multiple contract lengths and specializations. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Jobot listings that indicate visa sponsorship availability, so you're targeting openings where the end client has already signaled willingness to sponsor.
Understand the staffing agency H-1B filing structure
In a staffing model, USCIS requires the petitioner to demonstrate a valid employer-employee relationship with the end client named in the LCA. Ask Jobot's recruiter how they structure H-1B filings, specifically whether Jobot or the end client acts as the petitioner.

Find Data Engineer at Jobot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Data Engineers?
Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Data Engineers, though sponsorship availability depends on the end client, since Jobot operates as a staffing firm placing candidates with third-party companies. The end client must be willing to enter an employer-employee relationship recognized by USCIS. Always confirm sponsorship intent with your recruiter before advancing through the interview process.
How do I apply for Data Engineer jobs at Jobot?
You can browse and apply for Data Engineer roles at Jobot directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is available. When you apply, you'll typically connect with a Jobot recruiter who screens for technical fit before presenting your profile to the end client. Have your resume and any credential evaluations ready before that first recruiter call.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly use for Data Engineer roles?
Jobot has worked with H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visa holders for Data Engineer placements. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates who can start quickly without a cap filing. TN status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying data roles. H-1B is the most flexible long-term option but requires cap registration in March if you're not already in H-1B status.
What qualifications are expected for Data Engineer roles at Jobot?
Jobot's Data Engineer postings consistently require hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with proficiency in SQL and at least one pipeline framework such as Spark or Airflow. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is standard. Contract roles may move faster through the screening process if your skills map directly to the client's active tech stack.
How does the sponsorship timeline work for a staffing placement at Jobot?
The timeline depends on which visa type applies. For H-1B, the DOL LCA typically takes seven business days, followed by USCIS adjudication that can range from a few weeks with premium processing to several months standard. For OPT extensions or TN status, timelines are shorter. Because Jobot places you with an end client, both parties need to align on your intended start date before any filing begins.
