Frame your BD experience around SaaS metrics
Navan sells to mid-market and enterprise buyers, so your resume should lead with pipeline generation, ARR contribution, or deal cycle metrics. Vague sales experience won't stand out. Quantify the deals you sourced, not just the ones you closed.
Verify your visa category before applying
Navan sponsors multiple visa types for Business Development roles, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Confirm which category fits your nationality and status before your first interview so you can answer sponsorship questions confidently without stalling at the offer stage.
Time your application around H-1B cap season
If you need H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens registration each March for the April lottery. Targeting Navan in the months before that window gives your recruiter time to align internally and initiate the filing process before the deadline closes.
Align your outreach to Navan's BD org structure
Navan structures Business Development across outbound prospecting and strategic partnerships. Research which team aligns with your background and reference that distinction in your outreach to hiring managers. Generic applications to broad BD postings get filtered out first.
Use Migrate Mate to track open BD roles at Navan
Navan's Business Development openings fluctuate across seniority levels and regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Navan BD roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to active positions rather than manually checking career pages for stale postings.
Clarify F-1 OPT timing before your offer conversation
If you're on F-1 OPT, your work authorization window is finite. Before Navan extends an offer, confirm whether your remaining OPT covers the expected H-1B filing and cap-gap period. Running out of OPT before cap-gap begins creates an authorization gap you cannot work through.

Find Business Development at Navan JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Navan sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Navan sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. The H-1B requires a qualifying specialty occupation and a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field. Because H-1B is subject to the annual USCIS lottery, timing your application and offer acceptance around the March registration window is critical to securing sponsorship without a gap in work authorization.
Which visa types does Navan commonly sponsor for Business Development roles?
Navan sponsors several visa categories for Business Development positions, including H-1B, H-1B1, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. E-3 applies exclusively to Australian citizens and bypasses the H-1B lottery. TN covers Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA. Your eligibility depends on your nationality and current immigration status.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Navan?
You can apply directly through Navan's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse active Business Development openings at Navan that include visa sponsorship. Before applying, tailor your resume to highlight SaaS sales experience, pipeline metrics, and any enterprise or mid-market BD background. Sponsorship conversations typically happen after an initial screen, so be prepared to state your visa category and timeline clearly.
What qualifications does Navan look for in Business Development candidates?
Navan typically looks for candidates with prior experience in SaaS or travel-tech sales, comfort working with mid-market or enterprise buyers, and a track record of outbound prospecting or partnership development. A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is generally expected and is also required for H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. Familiarity with CRM tools and deal cycle management strengthens your application.
How do I navigate the visa sponsorship process once Navan extends an offer?
Once you have an offer, Navan's HR or immigration team typically engages an immigration attorney to initiate the filing. For H-1B, the employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before USCIS can process the petition. The full H-1B process from LCA to approval can take three to six months with standard processing, or one to two weeks with USCIS premium processing. Confirm timelines with your recruiter before your intended start date.
