Align Your PM Background With Retail Operations
Nordstrom's PM roles span e-commerce platforms, fulfillment systems, and in-store technology rollouts. Framing your experience around cross-functional delivery in consumer-facing or supply chain environments makes your application far more relevant than generic project credentials.
Distinguish Your OPT Start Date Early
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your authorization start date before applying. Nordstrom's hiring cycles for PM roles can run six to ten weeks, so misaligning your available start date with their onboarding timeline is one of the most preventable reasons offers fall through.
Clarify Sponsorship Willingness Before Final Rounds
Nordstrom handles H-1B sponsorship through its internal HR and legal teams, not a staffing agency. Raise your visa status during the offer stage, not the first screen, so the conversation happens when the hiring team is already invested in you.
Prepare LCA Documentation for Your Specific Role Level
DOL requires Nordstrom to file a Labor Condition Application tied to the specific wage level for your PM title. If you're negotiating seniority, understand that your offered level directly affects the prevailing wage on the LCA, which USCIS will scrutinize during adjudication.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter PM Roles by Sponsorship Type
Nordstrom posts PM openings across multiple teams with varying sponsorship scope. Use Migrate Mate to filter active roles by visa category so you're only targeting positions where your specific status, whether TN, H-1B, or OPT, is already supported.
Build a Portfolio Around Retail Technology Delivery
Nordstrom's PM hiring managers look for evidence of delivering technology or process projects in fast-moving retail or logistics environments. Documenting outcomes like reduced fulfillment cycle times or successful POS system migrations gives you specificity that generalist PM resumes lack.

Find Project Manager at Nordstrom JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nordstrom sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Nordstrom sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles, particularly where the position requires specialized knowledge in retail technology, supply chain systems, or enterprise software delivery. Sponsorship is handled through Nordstrom's internal HR and legal teams. Your offer letter will initiate the process, and the H-1B petition is filed by the employer directly with USCIS on your behalf.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Nordstrom?
Applications go through Nordstrom's careers portal, where PM roles are listed by function and location. You can also browse open Project Manager positions at Nordstrom filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where your specific visa status is supported. Tailoring your application to reflect retail or consumer technology delivery experience improves your chances of clearing the initial screen.
Which visa types does Nordstrom commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Nordstrom supports several visa categories for PM hires, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from academic programs. For longer-term employment, Nordstrom also pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for Project Managers in established positions, typically after an initial period on a nonimmigrant visa.
What qualifications does Nordstrom expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Nordstrom generally expects a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, business, or engineering for PM roles that qualify for H-1B sponsorship. Beyond the degree, hiring managers prioritize experience delivering cross-functional projects in retail, e-commerce, or logistics environments. Certifications like PMP or Agile credentials help, but demonstrated delivery outcomes carry more weight in PM hiring at a retailer of Nordstrom's scale.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship if I'm currently on OPT at Nordstrom?
If you're working at Nordstrom on F-1 OPT and your employer files an H-1B petition before your OPT expires, you can remain employed under a cap-gap extension while USCIS adjudicates the petition. H-1B petitions for the annual lottery must be registered in March for an October 1 start date. STEM OPT extensions give you up to 36 months of total OPT, providing more runway if you miss one lottery cycle.
