INTRODUCTION
Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human
Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.
Title: CEO Communications Manager
The CEO Communications Manager opportunity
We're seeking a high-performing CEO Communications Manager to help amplify the voice and vision of our CEO and drive AI optimization across his communications channels. In this role, you will report to Okta's Head of CEO Communications to support, streamline, and scale the CEO comms platform, spanning internal and external speaking events, media & influencer engagements, and social media. You will also work with the Corporate Communications team and partner with the broader executive bench, cross-functional partners, and our various agencies to develop bylines, blog posts, keynotes, talking points, and thought leadership content.
This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of content, operations, strategy, and execution—all in support of a visionary founder leading a global tech company through transformation and growth. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, highly accountable, and capable of grasping both business strategy as well as the underlying technology, particularly in the context of identity security, AI, and enterprise software.
What you'll be doing
- Content development: Develop and refine bylines, scripts, talking points, social copy, and briefing materials for internal and external engagements that reflect the CEO's vision and voice.
- Agentic innovation: Continuously apply and explore how AI and agents can securely optimize and automate workflows and content development across the CEO's communications platform.
- Event planning & production support: Serve as point of contact for production logistics across company events, including tech run-throughs, AV coordination, studio operations, and real-time event support.
- Stakeholder management: Manage inputs, timelines, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders, often coordinating between executives and production/design teams to ensure alignment across all CEO materials.
- Operational excellence: Anticipate needs, respond quickly, and act as a strategic thought partner—particularly in high-stakes, fast-paced settings. A bias for optimization and innovation will be highly valued.
What you'll bring to the role & what we're looking for
- 5-7+ years of experience in corporate communications including direct experience with executive and/or CEO communications, ideally in a high-growth tech or SaaS company
- Experience writing with and for CEOs, executives, leaders, and/or founders, with the ability to adapt to and maintain a distinct executive tone of voice
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail
- Experience with and eagerness to apply AI to enhance and reimagine processes while improving content quality and speed
- A passion for operational excellence and ability to thrive in a high-performance environment, taking initiative, owning outcomes, and operating with polish and discretion
- Strong project management instincts—capable of juggling shifting priorities, tight timelines, and multiple stakeholders with calm and precision
- Desire to be part of a mission-driven team that values trust, humility, rigor, and creative ambition
- An understanding of Okta's business and experience working with cloud companies
- Social media experience and an analytical approach, with the ability to quickly identify trending topics and issues with a defined point of view
- This role will be based in Okta's San Francisco office and will be required to be in office

Tips for Finding Communications Jobs at Okta
Frame your portfolio around security narratives
Okta's Communications team regularly translates complex identity and cybersecurity topics for enterprise audiences. Tailor your writing samples and campaign work to show you can simplify technical subject matter without losing accuracy.
Confirm OPT STEM extension eligibility early
Communications roles at Okta often sit within a technology company's organizational structure, but the SOC code tied to your specific job title determines STEM OPT eligibility. Verify your offer letter's job classification before assuming a 24-month extension applies.
Target roles with cross-functional scope
Okta's Communications openings frequently require collaboration with product, legal, and security teams. Positions with broader cross-functional mandates tend to carry clearer specialty occupation documentation, which strengthens an H-1B petition's specialty occupation argument.
Time your application around H-1B cap deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration in early March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, map your offer timeline so your employer can file a cap-subject petition before your work authorization expires.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Communications roles
Filtering by visa type and role function saves significant time in your search. Migrate Mate lets you browse verified Communications openings at Okta and similar technology companies that have confirmed sponsorship history.
Request the LCA details before signing your offer
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter to confirm the prevailing wage level and worksite location listed on the LCA matches your actual role and location.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Okta sponsor H-1B visas for Communications roles?
Yes, Okta sponsors H-1B visas for Communications positions. The company has an active sponsorship track record across its technology and corporate functions. Communications roles involving strategic messaging, PR, or content for enterprise security products typically meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires for H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Communications jobs at Okta?
Applications go through Okta's careers page, where you can filter by function. Migrate Mate also lists verified Communications openings at Okta with sponsorship details, so you can confirm visa support before applying. Tailor your materials to Okta's identity security focus and include samples that show enterprise or B2B communications experience.
Which visa types are commonly used for Communications roles at Okta?
H-1B is the most common pathway for full-time Communications hires at Okta. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates completing U.S. degrees, and TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Okta also supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications for longer-term employees.
What qualifications does Okta expect for Communications positions?
Most Communications roles at Okta require a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field. Enterprise or B2B technology experience is a strong differentiator, particularly if you've worked on security, SaaS, or identity-related narratives. Internal communications roles often require experience managing communications programs at scale across distributed teams.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Communications role at Okta?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period begins when employment ends, not when you start applying. For H-1B cap-subject petitions, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Build your job search timeline backward from those dates, and confirm your target employer can file before your current work authorization lapses.
