Verify Your Clinical Credentials Before Applying
Prime Healthcare Services operates Joint Commission-accredited facilities, so credentialing matters before your application moves forward. Confirm your certifications like BLS or CNA are current and recognized in the state where the specific facility is hiring.
Target Open Roles by Facility Location
Prime Healthcare has hospitals across multiple states with different labor market conditions, which affects how quickly PERM-based sponsorship moves. Facilities in rural or underserved areas often face fewer recruitment hurdles, which can accelerate the DOL's prevailing wage and labor market test process.
Understand the EB-3 Unskilled vs Skilled Classification
Healthcare Assistant roles sometimes fall under the EB-3 skilled or unskilled worker category depending on your formal training. Confirm with the recruiter which PERM classification they intend to use, since this affects your priority date and how long you wait in the Green Card queue.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Active Openings
Prime Healthcare Services posts Healthcare Assistant roles across its facilities at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter for currently open, sponsorship-eligible positions at Prime before outreach so your application targets a live requisition with active hiring intent.
Ask Recruiters About F-1 OPT Compatibility Upfront
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm the Healthcare Assistant position qualifies under your field of study before accepting an offer. Healthcare support roles need to connect directly to your degree program for STEM OPT extension eligibility, and that determination happens at your DSO level, not USCIS.
Align Your Offer Letter to USCIS Specialty Occupation Standards
Before Prime Healthcare files any petition on your behalf, review that your offer letter specifies a defined scope of duties tied to your clinical training. Vague job descriptions citing only general patient support tasks have drawn USCIS scrutiny on Healthcare Assistant petitions at hospital systems.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Prime Healthcare Services sponsor H-1B visas for Healthcare Assistants?
Prime Healthcare Services' sponsorship activity for Healthcare Assistants is concentrated in employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than the H-1B visa. Healthcare Assistant roles often don't meet USCIS's specialty occupation threshold required for H-1B classification, since the position typically doesn't require a specific bachelor's degree as a minimum entry requirement. If you're targeting this role, EB-3 is the more realistic pathway to discuss with the hiring team.
Which visa types are commonly used for Healthcare Assistant roles at Prime Healthcare Services?
The most common pathways for Healthcare Assistants at Prime Healthcare Services are EB-3 employer-sponsored Green Cards processed through PERM labor certification with the DOL, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students currently enrolled in healthcare programs. TN visa status is also available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying healthcare occupations. Each pathway has different timelines and eligibility requirements depending on your background and current immigration status.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Healthcare Assistant roles at Prime Healthcare Services?
Prime Healthcare Services typically expects candidates for Healthcare Assistant positions to hold a current BLS certification and, depending on the unit, a Certified Nursing Assistant credential. Prior acute care or long-term care experience is valued, particularly in high-acuity settings. If you're applying for sponsorship, your documented clinical training needs to align with the specific duties in the job description, since this directly supports the employer's PERM or petition filing.
How do I apply for Healthcare Assistant jobs at Prime Healthcare Services?
You can browse and apply for Healthcare Assistant positions at Prime Healthcare Services through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is available. When you identify an open role, apply directly through Prime's careers portal and indicate your visa status and work authorization needs upfront. Connecting with the recruiter early about sponsorship intent helps avoid late-stage mismatches, since not every facility-level hiring manager is equally familiar with the company's sponsorship process.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Healthcare Assistants at Prime Healthcare Services?
For EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification process with the DOL alone can take six months to over a year before Prime Healthcare Services can file the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Processing after that depends on your country of birth and priority date under the Visa Bulletin. If you're on F-1 OPT, you have a 60-day grace period after your end date, so aligning your offer and petition filing timeline with your OPT expiration is critical.
