About us
Summit Line Construction, a subsidiary of Quanta Services, Inc. (NYSE: PWR), is one of North America's premier utility construction companies. Headquartered in Heber City, Utah, we offer powerline and substation construction and maintenance services in a variety of utility markets. Like many Quanta operating companies, Summit Line continues to experience significant growth. As our national operations expand, we seek motivated individuals to join the team!
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Company Overview:
Summit Line Construction is headquartered in Heber City, Utah with additional Utah locations in Sandy and Provo. You can also find us in Northern California, Reno, Las Vegas and Phoenix. We offer our team members competitive pay and benefits, rewarding work, growth opportunities, and a constructive and collaborative work environment.
Position Overview:
This role plants a technology and AI-driven problem solver directly on our construction projects. You won’t be in a back-office writing reports. You’ll be on the project, walking the site, sitting in planning meetings, and working shoulder-to-shoulder with project managers, engineers, and field leaders. You will be working closely with project management to develop better information flow, scheduling intelligence, risk detection, and reporting. This role is not limited to one project or one problem. You will support our portfolio of work and go where the highest-impact opportunities are.
This role may report out of any of our regional offices.
Key Responsibilities:
Problem Identification & Ownership
- Understand manual processes, frustrations, and workarounds; match the right technology to each business problem
- Take ownership of broken processes and build solutions
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle: identify problems, prototype, iterate with users, and deploy into daily workflows
Solution Design & Development
- Design and deploy scalable solutions using modern technology with an AI-forward approach: AI-assisted development (Claude Code), data analytics, automation platforms, custom applications, integrations with existing construction systems.
- Build dashboards, automated reports, and data pipelines that give project leadership real-time visibility into what matters most.
AI & Technology Expertise
- Maintain strong knowledge of LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI product development stacks
Stakeholder Management & Adoption
- Manage relationships across leadership, field teams, and corporate functions
- Align priorities, communicate progress, and drive adoption of new tools and processes
- Champion AI/technology adoption by providing hands-on mentorship and guidance to cross-functional teams
Cross-Functional Translation & Strategy
- Serve as the bridge between construction expertise and the rapidly evolving world of AI and technology
- Translate field needs into technical solutions and technical capabilities into practical applications
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of experience in technical roles solving complex operational problems such as technology consulting, solution architecture, solutions engineering, construction technology, or a similar embedded technical role.
- Demonstrated ability to build custom applications, dashboards, systems and data integrations using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, as well as traditional code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) or low-code platforms.
- Fluency with modern AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar) and a track record of applying them to real-world operational problems.
- Strong technical aptitude: comfortable with data analysis, scripting, automation, and building workflows that connect systems and people.
- Proven stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills at any level.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%, including extended stays on project sites nationwide.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in and/or understanding of electrical construction, infrastructure, power delivery or industrial project environments.
- Familiarity with construction project management tools (Procore, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, SAP, or similar).
- Familiarity with Data Bricks.
- Background in engineering, computer science, management information systems, construction management, or a related field.
- Experience at a technology-focused consulting firm (Pariveda, Credera, Thoughtworks, Accenture, Deloitte, Slalom, or similar).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically

Frame your skills around field operations software
Quanta's Software Engineer roles often support infrastructure management, asset tracking, and field workforce systems. Tailor your resume to highlight backend, GIS, or operational technology experience rather than consumer-facing product work.
Confirm TN eligibility before your interview
If you're Canadian or Mexican, the TN visa is available for Software Engineers and avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Verify your job offer explicitly lists a qualifying title and that your degree field aligns with USCIS's approved TN computer systems analyst criteria.
Time your OPT application to match Quanta's hiring cycle
USCIS recommends filing OPT at least 90 days before your program end date. Quanta's infrastructure project cycles often drive hiring in Q1 and Q3, so aligning your OPT start date with those windows reduces gaps between authorization and your start date.
Ask HR directly about H-1B cap-year support
During offer negotiations, ask whether Quanta will file your H-1B petition in the April registration window and whether they cover premium processing fees. Getting this in writing before you sign protects you if your OPT expires close to the lottery deadline.
Browse open roles using Migrate Mate to filter by sponsorship
Quanta posts Software Engineer openings across multiple business units, and not all divisions sponsor equally. Use Migrate Mate to surface active roles at Quanta that are linked to verified visa sponsorship history, so you're targeting positions with real precedent.
Verify your employer of record before the LCA is filed
Quanta operates through subsidiaries and joint ventures in the energy sector. Confirm with HR which legal entity will appear on your Labor Condition Application filed with DOL, since your LCA employer must match the entity on your H-1B petition exactly.

Find Software Engineer at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group has sponsored H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. Because Quanta operates through multiple subsidiaries, sponsorship decisions can vary by business unit. When you receive an offer, confirm directly with HR which entity is sponsoring and whether they'll file in the annual H-1B cap registration window each April.
Which visa types are commonly used for Software Engineer roles at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
Quanta has sponsored H-1B visas for Software Engineers and also accepts F-1 OPT and CPT for students in STEM programs. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status, which doesn't require lottery selection. Each pathway has different authorization timelines, so clarify with Quanta's HR team which options apply to your specific offer and start date.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
Applications go through Quanta's careers portal, where roles are listed by subsidiary and location. Because Quanta's Software Engineer openings span divisions focused on electric power, pipeline, and industrial services, filter by the business unit most relevant to your background. Migrate Mate also lists Quanta Software Engineer roles with sponsorship context, so you can identify positions where visa support has been confirmed.
What qualifications and experience does Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group expect for Software Engineer roles?
Most Software Engineer roles at Quanta require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. Practical experience with enterprise systems, cloud infrastructure, or operational technology platforms is valued given Quanta's focus on managing large-scale field workforces and critical energy assets.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship to start at Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your start date must fall within your authorized employment window, so file with USCIS at least 90 days before your program ends. For H-1B, registrations open in early March for an October 1 start, meaning there can be a six-month gap between a spring offer and your H-1B effective date. Confirm whether Quanta will bridge that gap using cap-gap protections or OPT STEM extension.
