Align your credentials to commercial banking standards
Regions Bank evaluates Business Development Managers on revenue generation and relationship portfolio experience. Frame your resume around client acquisition outcomes, industry verticals served, and any lending or treasury product exposure relevant to commercial banking.
Target regional markets with active hiring cycles
Regions Bank concentrates Business Development Manager openings across the Southeast and mid-South. Filtering your search by those markets gives you a stronger pipeline than applying broadly, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the regional hiring level.
Clarify your OPT or TN status early in screening
If you're on F-1 OPT or hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship qualifying for TN status, disclose your authorization type in the first recruiter call. Regions Bank has sponsored both, and early transparency helps the hiring team confirm a sponsorship pathway before the offer stage.
Understand the PERM timeline before accepting an offer
If your path to permanent residence requires PERM labor certification through DOL, factor in multi-year processing when negotiating your start date and role scope. Business Development Manager roles at banks like Regions typically qualify, but the employer must initiate the process proactively.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Business Development Manager roles
Filtering for roles at visa-sponsoring financial institutions is time-consuming without the right tool. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Business Development Manager openings at Regions Bank specifically filtered by sponsorship type and location.
Prepare documentation that maps your degree to the role
H-1B specialty occupation approval requires a direct connection between your field of study and the Business Development Manager function. A finance, economics, or business degree with coursework in credit analysis or commercial lending strengthens your USCIS petition significantly.

Find Business Development Manager at Regions Bank JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Regions Bank sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, Regions Bank sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. The position generally qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria given the degree-level analytical and financial advisory requirements. Sponsorship is initiated by the employer after an offer is extended, so confirm the bank's willingness to sponsor during the offer negotiation stage before accepting.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Regions Bank?
Applications go through Regions Bank's careers portal on their official website. You can also browse open Business Development Manager positions at Regions Bank filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles specifically relevant to international candidates. Have your resume tailored to commercial banking outcomes and be ready to disclose your visa status early in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development Manager roles at Regions Bank?
Regions Bank sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Managers and has also worked with F-1 OPT candidates transitioning to full sponsorship after a cap-gap or STEM OPT period. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying business roles. For permanent residence, EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories are the typical pathways through employer-initiated PERM filings with DOL.
What qualifications does Regions Bank expect for Business Development Manager roles?
Regions Bank typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, combined with direct experience in commercial banking, treasury management, or financial services sales. Familiarity with credit structures, client portfolio growth, and CRM platforms is commonly expected. International candidates should also be prepared to demonstrate English-language fluency and knowledge of U.S. financial regulations relevant to the role.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap and filing deadlines?
The H-1B cap lottery registration typically opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, you need to be employed and registered before your OPT expires to use the cap-gap extension, which protects your status through September 30. Plan to start your job search at Regions Bank at least six months before your current authorization expires so there's enough runway for offer, selection, and petition filing.
