Get Your Credentials Evaluated Before Applying
Trinity Health requires OT licensure in the state where you'll practice. If you trained outside the U.S., submit your credentials to NBCOT and your target state's occupational therapy board early, evaluation alone can take several weeks and delays your start date.
Target Rehabilitation-Heavy Facilities Within the Network
Trinity Health's inpatient rehab units and post-acute care facilities consistently hire OTs. Focusing your applications on these service lines improves your odds, since high patient volume in rehab settings creates recurring openings rather than one-off backfills.
Confirm the Role Qualifies as a Specialty Occupation
For H-1B sponsorship, your offer letter must reflect a position requiring a specific OT degree, not a generalized healthcare credential. Ask the recruiter whether Trinity Health's job requisition is structured to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements before accepting.
Ask HR About PERM Timing if You Need a Green Card
If your goal is permanent residency via EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process through DOL can take a year or more before USCIS even sees your petition. Clarify whether Trinity Health initiates PERM concurrently with H-1B approval or only after you've worked there for a defined period.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open OT Roles at Trinity Health
Filtering for visa-sponsoring employers in healthcare is time-consuming without the right tool. Use Migrate Mate to search verified Occupational Therapist openings at Trinity Health filtered by sponsorship type, so you're only applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Align Your OPT or TN Timeline With Their Hiring Cycle
If you're on F-1 OPT or a TN visa, verify your remaining authorized period covers Trinity Health's typical onboarding lead time. OPT runs for 12 months standard, and TN requires a qualifying USMCA profession designation that OT roles do support for Canadian and Mexican nationals.

Find Occupational Therapist at Trinity Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Occupational Therapists?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for Occupational Therapists where the role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria. OT positions typically meet this standard because they require a specific degree in occupational therapy. Sponsorship is handled at the facility or regional level, so confirm with the hiring manager or HR team at the specific Trinity Health location where you're applying.
How do I apply for Occupational Therapist jobs at Trinity Health?
You can search and apply for Occupational Therapist openings at Trinity Health through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions where international candidates are actively considered. When applying, include your NBCOT certification status and any active state OT licenses prominently in your application materials.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Occupational Therapist hires?
Trinity Health works with several visa categories for OT roles, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN visas for qualifying Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing OT programs in the U.S., J-1 for exchange visitors in clinical settings, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term sponsorship.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for Occupational Therapist roles?
Trinity Health typically requires a master's or doctoral degree in occupational therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program, active NBCOT certification, and licensure in the state of employment. For international candidates, foreign-trained OTs must have credentials evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Specialty experience in areas like acute care, neurorehabilitation, or hand therapy can strengthen your application for specific facility types within the network.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Occupational Therapist at Trinity Health?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B petitions filed in the annual cap lottery have an October 1 start date, requiring registration in March. If cap-exempt or using premium processing through USCIS, approvals can come faster. Green Card sponsorship via PERM adds significant time since DOL labor certification alone can take 12 months or more before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
