Credential Your Clinical Training for U.S. Standards
Trinity Health prioritizes candidates with a Certified Medical Assistant credential or equivalent clinical training recognized in the U.S. If your certification is foreign-issued, get it evaluated through a NACES-approved agency before applying.
Target Trinity Health's Outpatient Clinic Openings
Medical Assistant demand at Trinity Health is concentrated in ambulatory and outpatient settings. Filtering your search by clinic or outpatient center locations increases your odds of finding roles where sponsorship is more routinely offered than acute inpatient positions.
Clarify OPT or CPT Authorization Early in Interviews
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT authorization dates with your DSO before your first interview. Trinity Health recruiters need to verify work authorization timelines to determine whether a cap-gap extension or H-1B transition applies to your start date.
Understand How PERM Fits Long-Term at Trinity Health
For EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways, Trinity Health must file a PERM labor certification with DOL before sponsoring you. This process typically takes one to two years, so raise your long-term immigration goals during the offer negotiation stage, not after signing.
Use Migrate Mate to Identify Active Medical Assistant Openings
Searching broadly wastes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Medical Assistant roles at Trinity Health specifically by visa type, so you're only applying to positions where your sponsorship situation is already a fit before you send a single application.
Confirm E-Verify Enrollment Covers Your Specific Facility
Trinity Health operates across multiple regional systems. Before accepting an offer, confirm the hiring facility is enrolled in E-Verify, which is required to employ workers on F-1 OPT. Some subsidiaries operate under separate employer identification numbers with distinct compliance setups.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for Medical Assistants?
Yes, Trinity Health has sponsored H-1B visas for healthcare support roles including Medical Assistants. Because the H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, your application is stronger when the role demands a specific clinical credential or degree. Roles tied to specialized departments or outpatient care coordination tend to meet this threshold more consistently than general administrative medical assistant positions.
How do I apply for Medical Assistant jobs at Trinity Health?
You can browse and apply for Medical Assistant positions directly through Trinity Health's careers portal, filtering by location and department. For a faster way to identify which openings are open to visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to search Trinity Health's listings by your specific visa type, so you're not spending time on roles that won't support your work authorization.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for Medical Assistant roles?
Trinity Health sponsors multiple visa categories for healthcare workers, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying clinical occupations, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing clinical programs, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways under EB-2 and EB-3. The appropriate visa depends on your nationality, educational background, and the specific duties of the Medical Assistant role you're offered.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for Medical Assistant candidates?
Trinity Health generally expects candidates to hold a Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program such as AAMA or AMT, or equivalent clinical training. Hands-on experience with patient intake, vitals, phlebotomy, or electronic health record systems like Epic is commonly listed in job postings. For visa sponsorship, your credential must be verifiable and, if earned outside the U.S., may need a foreign credential evaluation.
How do I navigate the timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship at Trinity Health?
H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap, with USCIS accepting registrations each March for an October 1 start date. If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, your cap-gap extension may cover you between your OPT expiration and October 1. Raise sponsorship timing with Trinity Health's HR team as early as the offer stage so there's enough lead time to prepare the petition before the registration window opens.
