THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
The Associate Category Manager is responsible for partnering closely with the Sr. Category Managers in identifying and acquiring new sellers to join the platform.
YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of new sellers across key-priority categories in alignment with Ulta Beauty’s marketplace strategy
- Develop and pitch value propositions to prospective sellers, highlighting the benefits of joining the Ulta Beauty marketplace
- Identify potential sellers that align with the marketplace's strategic goals and product categories
- Execute seller acquisition strategies, including outreach, partnerships, and marketing campaigns
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with new sellers, ensuring compliance with marketplace policies and standards
- Forecast volume & number of new sellers and activities required to incubate them
- Educate sellers on features, promotional campaign and market insights
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless seller experience on the platform
- Manage administrative tasks required to support the ongoing growth of the Marketplace
- Interact with stakeholders of different teams to ensure products sold by new sellers receive enough visibility on the product pages
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required
- 3-5 years experience in retail, e-commerce, business development or sales; experience with B2B environment preferred
- Strong sales and business development skills, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with sellers and internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and marketplaces, including seller onboarding, product listing, and order management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to close deals and drive revenue growth
- Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work
- Team player who is willing to collaborate with others to achieve shared goals
- Passionate about e-commerce and excited about the opportunity to help sellers succeed on the platform
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $77,600.00 - $90,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
