Frame credentials around retail operations metrics
COO candidates at Ulta need credentials that speak directly to omnichannel retail execution, not just general operations leadership. Document measurable outcomes in supply chain optimization, store operations scaling, or fulfillment transformation before submitting any application.
Research Ulta's promoted visa categories early
Ulta has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 categories for corporate roles. Understanding which classification fits your background before outreach shapes how you position your degree, experience, and specialty occupation standing to the hiring team from the start.
Target Ulta's corporate operations team directly
COO openings at Ulta are driven by enterprise transformation priorities, not seasonal cycles. Engaging Ulta's talent acquisition team for corporate leadership roles separately from their store-level hiring pipeline gets your application in front of the right decision makers.
Clarify F-1 OPT timelines with Ulta's HR before accepting
If you're on F-1 OPT, the standard 12-month authorization window is tight for a COO hiring cycle that can include extended executive assessments. Confirm Ulta's readiness to file an H-1B or PERM petition within your remaining OPT period before reaching the offer stage.
Prepare a PERM-ready employment history record
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship at this level requires a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. Gaps, overlapping roles, or international employment history that isn't clearly documented will slow the process. Organize your full work chronology with precise dates and employer details before any filing begins.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active COO openings at Ulta
COO-level roles at Ulta don't always stay open long and can appear across multiple functional titles. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship-friendly openings at Ulta so you're applying to roles where the pathway is already confirmed, not speculative.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ulta sponsor H-1B visas for COOs?
Ulta's sponsorship activity at the corporate leadership level has centered on employment-based Green Card pathways like EB-2 and EB-3 rather than direct H-1B visa transfers for COO roles. That said, candidates already holding H-1B status through a prior employer can transfer sponsorship to Ulta if the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. USCIS requires the position to involve a direct relationship between a specific degree field and the job duties, which is straightforward for executive operations roles tied to business or supply chain credentials.
Which visa types are commonly used for COO roles at Ulta?
At the COO level, the most relevant pathways at Ulta are EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card sponsorship, which require a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. Candidates on F-1 OPT or CPT may also be considered during the hiring phase, though these are transitional statuses that require the employer to commit to a longer-term sponsorship plan. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management roles under the USMCA agreement.
What qualifications does Ulta expect for COO candidates requiring sponsorship?
Ulta's COO profile skews toward candidates with deep experience in retail operations, supply chain leadership, or omnichannel execution at scale. A graduate degree in business, operations management, or a related field strengthens an EB-2 sponsorship case significantly. Prior P&L ownership across multi-unit retail environments and demonstrated ability to lead large distributed teams are consistent signals Ulta looks for at this level, regardless of sponsorship status.
How do I apply for COO jobs at Ulta?
COO-level openings at Ulta are listed on their corporate careers portal and tend to move through a multi-stage executive assessment process. Migrate Mate filters Ulta's active roles specifically for candidates who need visa sponsorship, so you can confirm the pathway before investing time in the application. Once you identify the right opening, engage Ulta's corporate talent acquisition team directly and be upfront about your sponsorship needs early in the process to avoid misaligned timelines at the offer stage.
How do I plan my timeline if Ulta is sponsoring my Green Card for a COO role?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through Ulta begins with a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL, which can take six months to over a year before an I-140 petition is filed with USCIS. For candidates from countries with oversubscribed priority dates, the wait after I-140 approval can extend significantly. Starting the conversation with Ulta's HR and immigration counsel before or immediately after accepting an offer gives you the clearest picture of your individual timeline.
