Frame credentials around retail program delivery
Ulta's senior PM roles center on cross-functional retail initiatives, not generic project management. Tailor your resume to show end-to-end ownership of large-scale programs in retail, consumer goods, or omnichannel environments before you apply.
Target roles tied to capital programs
Ulta regularly runs store expansion and remodel programs that generate senior PM openings outside typical tech-focused hiring cycles. Searching for postings referencing capital projects or real estate programs uncovers sponsorship-eligible roles that see less competition.
Verify your OPT timeline against Ulta's hiring pace
Retail-sector hiring for senior roles often runs eight to twelve weeks from application to offer. If you're on F-1 OPT with under six months remaining, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before targeting roles that require complex onboarding approvals.
Understand how TN status applies to your role
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue Ulta PM roles under TN classification if the position qualifies under a covered category. Confirm with your immigration attorney whether the specific job description meets DOL's TN criteria before accepting an offer.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways require PERM labor certification, which Ulta has pursued for this function. During offer negotiation, ask directly whether the company initiates PERM alongside the initial work visa or only after a defined tenure period.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
Ulta posts senior PM openings across multiple business units and they don't stay open long. Use Migrate Mate to filter Ulta's current listings by sponsorship type so you're applying to verified roles before they close.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ulta sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Project Managements?
Ulta does not appear in public USCIS H-1B visa disclosure data as a consistent sponsor for Senior Project Management roles specifically. The company's documented sponsorship activity for this function centers on F-1 OPT, TN visa, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. If H-1B visa sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, raise it explicitly during the offer stage rather than assuming it's available.
Which visa types are commonly used for Senior Project Management roles at Ulta?
F-1 OPT and CPT are the most common entry points for international candidates joining Ulta in senior PM roles, particularly those transitioning from graduate programs in supply chain, operations, or business. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose job description meets the relevant DOL category. For longer-term work authorization, Ulta has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for this function through the PERM process.
What qualifications and experience does Ulta expect for Senior Project Management roles?
Ulta's senior PM postings consistently emphasize experience managing cross-functional programs in a retail or consumer-facing environment. A PMP certification strengthens your application, though it's not always listed as a hard requirement. Practical experience with store operations, technology rollouts, or supply chain transformation is weighted heavily. Most postings expect five or more years of progressive project management experience, with demonstrated ownership of large, multi-workstream programs.
How do I apply for Senior Project Management jobs at Ulta?
Applications go through Ulta's careers portal, where senior PM roles are listed under the Operations or Technology categories depending on the business unit. To find roles that are actively open to visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate to filter Ulta's current listings by sponsorship type before applying directly on the company site. Tailor your application to the specific program area, since Ulta hires across store development, supply chain, and enterprise technology functions.
How do I manage the timeline between a job offer and my visa filing at Ulta?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer typically needs to initiate any status change or STEM extension paperwork within the first few weeks of employment. For TN candidates, status is obtained at the port of entry and doesn't require USCIS processing time, which simplifies the offer-to-start timeline. For EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card paths, PERM labor certification with DOL runs several months before USCIS petition filing, so early conversation with Ulta's immigration team about sequencing is critical.
