Tailor your resume to Ulta's operations language
Ulta's Customer Operations Manager postings consistently emphasize omnichannel fulfillment, in-store service metrics, and team coaching. Frame your experience around those specific functions rather than generic operations management to clear their applicant tracking system.
Activate OPT early for retail hiring cycles
Ulta runs major hiring pushes ahead of holiday and beauty launch seasons. If you're on F-1 OPT, file your EAD application with USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date so your authorization is active when offers move quickly.
Target Ulta's district and regional operations openings
Ulta frequently posts Customer Operations Manager roles tied to specific distribution regions. Roles attached to high-volume distribution centers or flagship markets tend to move faster through internal approval, which can shorten the timeline between offer and sponsorship paperwork initiation.
Understand what TN status requires for operations roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals can enter on TN status for qualifying management roles, but the job duties must align with a recognized USMCA category. Work with your employer's immigration counsel to confirm the Customer Operations Manager job description meets DOL's classification criteria before signing an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsorship openings at Ulta
Sorting through hundreds of retail postings manually wastes time when you're on a tight authorization window. Migrate Mate lets you filter Customer Operations Manager openings at Ulta specifically by visa type so you only pursue roles where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Get ahead of PERM timing if you're pursuing permanent residence
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through PERM is a multi-year process that Ulta has used for operations roles. Raise permanent residence options during the offer negotiation stage, not after you've started, so your employer can initiate prevailing wage determination with DOL without delay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ulta sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Operations Managers?
Ulta's sponsorship activity for Customer Operations Manager roles has centered on F-1 OPT, TN visa, and Green Card pathways rather than H-1B visa transfers. H-1B sponsorship in retail operations is less common because the role's specialty occupation standing can be harder to establish, though it is not impossible. If you're pursuing an H-1B, confirm with Ulta's HR team early in the process whether the specific role qualifies under their internal policy.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Operations Manager roles at Ulta?
F-1 OPT and CPT are the most accessible entry points for international candidates at Ulta, particularly for recent graduates in supply chain, business, or retail management programs. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management classifications. For longer-term employment, Ulta has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for operations talent through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Ulta expect for a Customer Operations Manager?
Ulta typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field, combined with direct experience managing store or distribution center teams. Familiarity with omnichannel retail workflows, inventory systems, and performance coaching is heavily weighted. For sponsored candidates, having a degree that clearly maps to the role strengthens both the hiring case and any future PERM labor certification filing with DOL.
How do I apply for Customer Operations Manager jobs at Ulta?
Applications go through Ulta's careers portal, where postings are organized by location and function. To find roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed without manually reviewing each listing, use Migrate Mate to filter Ulta's Customer Operations Manager openings by visa type. Before applying, align your resume language with Ulta's specific posting, focusing on metrics like customer satisfaction scores, team productivity, and fulfillment accuracy.
How do I plan my timeline if I need sponsorship for a Customer Operations Manager role at Ulta?
If you're on F-1 OPT, build in at least 90 days before your authorization expires to allow USCIS processing time for an EAD renewal or cap-gap coverage. For PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, the full process from prevailing wage determination through I-140 approval typically runs two to four years. Raise your sponsorship needs and timeline with Ulta's recruiting team before accepting an offer so both parties can plan accordingly.
