Match your degree to operations management directly
Sodexo's Customer Operations Manager roles typically require a degree in business, hospitality, or a related field. If your credential is in a different discipline, gather documentation showing how your coursework maps to operations or contract management functions before applying.
Target Sodexo's contract-based site openings
Sodexo staffs Customer Operations Managers at specific client sites, not just corporate offices. Roles tied to food service contracts at healthcare systems, universities, or corporate campuses tend to have more defined hiring timelines, which makes it easier to plan your sponsorship conversation early.
Clarify your OPT expiration before your final interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, Sodexo's HR team will need to know your exact authorization end date to plan any transition. Bring your EAD card details and I-20 to the offer stage so the hiring manager can loop in their immigration team without delay.
Ask about TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Customer Operations Manager roles can qualify under the TN Management Consultant category for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Confirm with Sodexo's HR that your offer letter describes the role in terms that align with DOL's TN job description requirements before your border or consulate appointment.
Find open Customer Operations Manager roles at Sodexo on Migrate Mate
Sodexo posts Customer Operations Manager openings across multiple regions, and roles vary by contract type. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sodexo positions that align with your visa status so you're only pursuing roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Understand Sodexo's internal approval process for sponsorship
Large food service contractors like Sodexo typically require regional HR sign-off before committing to sponsor a new hire. At the offer stage, ask directly whether the sponsorship decision sits with the hiring manager or a central immigration team, so you know who to follow up with and when.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Operations Managers?
Sodexo's sponsorship for Customer Operations Manager roles tends to center on visa categories like F-1 OPT, TN, and J-1 visa rather than H-1B visa. H-1B sponsorship at this role level is less common because operations management positions don't always meet the specialty occupation threshold USCIS applies to H-1B petitions. That said, sponsorship decisions can vary by region and contract type, so it's worth confirming directly with Sodexo's HR team at the offer stage.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Operations Manager roles at Sodexo?
The most common pathways for Customer Operations Manager roles at Sodexo include F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals working in a qualifying management capacity, J-1 for exchange visitors in eligible programs, and H-2B visa for temporary or seasonal placements. The right category depends on your citizenship, degree, and the specific nature of the role you're being hired into.
What qualifications or experience does Sodexo expect for Customer Operations Manager roles?
Sodexo generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, hospitality management, or a related field, along with hands-on experience managing food service operations or client-facing service contracts. Familiarity with Sodexo's operating environment, including multi-site management, vendor coordination, and compliance with food safety standards, strengthens your application. Prior experience in institutional food service settings like healthcare or higher education is a meaningful differentiator.
How do I apply for Customer Operations Manager jobs at Sodexo?
You can browse and apply for Customer Operations Manager openings at Sodexo directly through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters Sodexo roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions that fit your authorization status before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to highlight multi-site operations experience and any client contract management you've handled. Following up with the regional HR contact after submitting your application can also move things faster at a company of Sodexo's size.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing sponsorship at Sodexo for this role?
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window (or 24-month STEM extension if eligible) sets the outer boundary for when sponsorship needs to be filed. TN status can be secured faster, often at the border or a consulate, but it requires a qualifying offer letter. Build in time for Sodexo's internal HR approval process, which at large food service contractors often involves a central immigration team review before any petition goes to USCIS.
