Frame your credentials around rental operations
United Rentals looks for operations managers who understand fleet logistics, utilization rates, and contract-based customer relationships. Translate your experience into those terms before you apply so hiring managers immediately see the fit.
Target branches with high rental volume
United Rentals staffs Customer Operations Manager roles unevenly across its branch network. Larger metro-area and construction-corridor locations generate enough operational complexity to justify international hiring, so concentrate your applications there.
Clarify your visa category early in recruiter conversations
H-1B and TN eligibility requirements differ significantly in processing time and employer burden. Telling the recruiter your status and authorized work period upfront prevents late-stage surprises that can cause offers in the rental sector to stall or fall through.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship history
United Rentals posts Customer Operations Manager positions across dozens of locations, but not every opening will move forward with visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for sponsored openings at United Rentals so you apply where your profile is actually viable.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
United Rentals files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before any H-1B petition can proceed. Having your job description, branch location, and prevailing wage documentation ready lets you move quickly once an offer is extended and reduces the risk of losing the position to a faster-moving candidate.
Align your degree field with the specialty occupation standard
USCIS requires that H-1B roles qualify as specialty occupations, meaning a specific bachelor's degree field must be required for the position. For operations management at a rental company, degrees in supply chain, logistics, business operations, or industrial management carry the strongest alignment.

Does United Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Operations Managers?
Yes, United Rentals has a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for Customer Operations Manager roles. Sponsorship is more likely at larger, high-volume branches where the operational complexity of the role supports the specialty occupation classification USCIS requires. Your degree field should align with operations, logistics, or a related discipline to strengthen the petition.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Operations Manager roles at United Rentals?
H-1B is the most common visa pathway for this role, but United Rentals also has experience with F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employer-sponsored Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. TN is an efficient option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose degree aligns with a qualifying USMCA occupation category relevant to operations management.
What qualifications and experience does United Rentals expect for Customer Operations Manager positions?
United Rentals typically looks for candidates with a background in operations, logistics, or a related field, along with experience managing customer-facing processes, service delivery, or equipment coordination. Familiarity with fleet or rental operations is a clear advantage. A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related discipline is standard for most openings.
How do I apply for Customer Operations Manager jobs at United Rentals?
You can browse and apply for Customer Operations Manager positions at United Rentals through Migrate Mate, which curates openings with visa sponsorship relevance. Filter by role and company to find active United Rentals listings, then apply directly. Prepare a resume that highlights operational leadership, customer account management, and any rental or logistics industry experience before submitting.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a United Rentals role?
If you're targeting H-1B sponsorship, standard cap-subject processing requires filing by April 1 for an October 1 start, meaning your offer and I-129 preparation need to be complete well before that window. F-1 OPT gives you immediate authorization to start while sponsorship is filed. TN status for eligible nationals can be obtained at the border or port of entry with same-day processing in many cases.
