Frame your credentials around fleet operations
United Rentals prioritizes candidates who can demonstrate hands-on experience managing equipment inventory, maintenance workflows, or branch P&L. Translate your background into the specific language of rental and leasing operations before you apply.
Target branch locations with active openings
United Rentals hires Operations Managers across hundreds of branch locations, not just corporate. Focus on regions with multiple open positions, as those branches are actively scaling and more likely to move quickly through the offer and sponsorship process.
Ask about the LCA process during offer negotiation
Before signing an offer, confirm that United Rentals has initiated the Labor Condition Application with DOL. The LCA must be certified before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS, and delays here can push your start date past what your current status allows.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsorship-verified openings
Search for Operations Manager roles at United Rentals through Migrate Mate, which filters jobs by visa sponsorship history so you avoid wasting time on listings from employers who don't sponsor. Apply directly to positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Document operational scope for PERM qualification
If you're targeting a Green Card through United Rentals, your job duties need to meet the minimum requirements set during PERM labor certification with DOL. Keep records of supervisory scope, headcount managed, and budget responsibility to support the employer's filing.

Does United Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Managers?
Yes, United Rentals sponsors H-1B visas for Operations Manager roles. The company has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for operations-related positions. If you're applying, confirm sponsorship directly with the recruiter early in the process, and ask whether the role is eligible before investing time in later interview rounds.
Which visa types are commonly used for Operations Manager roles at United Rentals?
H-1B is the most common pathway for Operations Manager roles at United Rentals. The company also has experience with TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa categories for candidates pursuing a Green Card. The right visa depends on your nationality, education, and timeline.
What qualifications and experience does United Rentals expect for Operations Manager roles?
United Rentals typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field, combined with demonstrated experience in logistics, fleet management, or branch operations. Familiarity with equipment rental workflows, team supervision, and cost control is valued. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree should clearly connect to the operations function of the role.
How do I apply for Operations Manager jobs at United Rentals?
You can browse and apply for Operations Manager roles at United Rentals through Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions verified for visa sponsorship so you can apply with confidence. When you apply, be direct in your application materials about your visa status and sponsorship needs. Contacting the recruiter early to confirm sponsorship eligibility saves time if a particular branch location cannot support sponsorship.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process take at United Rentals for Operations Manager roles?
From offer to work authorization, the timeline depends heavily on your current visa status. H-1B cap-subject petitions have a fixed October 1 start date, so timing your offer relative to the USCIS registration window in March matters. TN and H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can move faster, sometimes within weeks of a certified LCA from DOL.
