Frame your experience around fleet accounts
United Rentals prioritizes candidates who can manage large, multi-site rental accounts. Before applying, document specific examples of contract negotiation, utilization reporting, or service escalation handling, since these mirror the day-to-day scope of this role.
Target branches near major construction corridors
Customer Program Manager openings cluster in regions with dense infrastructure and commercial construction activity. Searching by metro area rather than state filters out postings with weaker sponsorship history and puts you closer to hiring managers who fill these roles regularly.
Confirm your OPT or CPT timeline before outreach
If you're on F-1 status, map your OPT expiration against a realistic offer-to-start timeline in equipment rental. STEM OPT extension is not available for this role classification, so a 12-month runway is the practical minimum before needing H-1B cap filing.
Ask directly about LCA filing during the offer stage
United Rentals must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before any H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. Ask your recruiter which legal counsel handles this filing so you know the process is already established, not being built from scratch for your hire.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Customer Program Manager roles at United Rentals
Sponsorship-eligible postings at large rental companies move quickly and aren't always flagged on general job boards. Search Migrate Mate to surface active Customer Program Manager listings at United Rentals filtered by visa type, so you apply before requisitions close.
Prepare a TN documentation package if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Customer Program Manager roles at United Rentals can qualify under the TN visa's Management Consultant category with the right supporting letter. Have your employer draft a role description tied explicitly to specialized consulting activity, not general account supervision, to satisfy the category requirements at the port of entry.

Find Customer Program Manager at United Rentals JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does United Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Program Managers?
Yes, United Rentals has a documented history of filing H-1B petitions for corporate and program management functions, including Customer Program Manager roles. Sponsorship is handled through the company's legal team, so once you receive an offer, confirm the H-1B filing timeline directly with HR to ensure the petition aligns with the April cap registration window.
How do I apply for Customer Program Manager jobs at United Rentals?
Applications go through United Rentals' careers portal, but sponsorship-eligible listings aren't always easy to identify there. Migrate Mate aggregates Customer Program Manager openings at United Rentals and filters by visa sponsorship availability, making it faster to find roles where international candidates are actively considered. Apply directly through the company portal once you've identified a match.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Program Manager roles at United Rentals?
H-1B is the most common pathway for candidates already in the U.S. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for recent graduates earlier in the pipeline. TN visas are a realistic option for Canadian and Mexican citizens if the role can be framed under an eligible professional category. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship is available for long-term hires, typically initiated after a period of H-1B employment.
What qualifications does United Rentals expect for a Customer Program Manager with visa sponsorship?
Most Customer Program Manager postings at United Rentals require a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field, plus demonstrated experience managing national or regional accounts in an industrial or equipment-intensive environment. Candidates with backgrounds in construction procurement, fleet management, or B2B service contracts tend to clear the specialty occupation threshold most cleanly for H-1B purposes.
How do I understand the timeline from job offer to visa approval at United Rentals?
For H-1B cap cases, USCIS registration opens in March and employment cannot begin before October 1. That creates a six-month minimum gap between offer and start date in most scenarios. Premium processing shortens adjudication to roughly 15 business days once the petition is filed, but the October start date is fixed. Factor this into your negotiation so your offer letter reflects the correct anticipated start.
