Barrett Paving Materials is seeking a Laborer to join our team in the NY North region. This role supports paving and road construction operations by performing essential field tasks in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This position is a Laborer position working mainly prevailing wage projects.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies the safety guidelines including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Carries out the work based on precise directives from their superiors.
- Prepares the tools, the materials, necessary for the building of the site project and the roads.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the construction site.
- Assist crews with paving, road construction, and heavy civil operations.
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform general labor tasks to support daily jobsite activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Must have reliable transportation to jobsites.
SKILLS
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor and changing weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction tools and jobsite practices.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to arrive timely daily is a must.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Previous construction or paving experience preferred but not required.
