SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER + CREATIVE CONTENT | The Flower Company | Part-Time → Potential Full-Time
Are you wildly creative, endlessly inspired, and just a little bit obsessed with beautiful things?
The Flower Company is looking for a Social Media Manager + Creative Content Coordinator to join our team and bring our brand to life online.
We are a retail flower shop and luxury wedding & event florist, creating everything from everyday bouquets to lush wedding installations, floral masterpieces, and unforgettable celebrations.
We’re looking for someone with over-the-top creativity, sparkle, initiative, and a seriously good eye for content.
Someone who can walk into a room full of flowers and immediately see the Reel.
Someone who understands that the little behind-the-scenes moments can be just as beautiful as the finished product.
And someone who isn't afraid to jump in, get their hands dirty, and be part of the team.
THE ROLE
This is an in-person position at The Flower Company, approximately 15–40 hours per week depending on availability and experience.
Your primary focus will be managing and growing our Instagram, Facebook, and established email marketing list, while also becoming an integral part of our flower shop team.
You will both create original content and work with photos, videos, and other content provided by our team.
For the right person who is interested in floral design, this part-time position has the potential to grow into a full-time creative + floral design role.
SOCIAL MEDIA + CONTENT
You will take ownership of our social media presence from idea to execution, including:
- Managing The Flower Company's Instagram and Facebook accounts
- Creating and maintaining a strategic social media content calendar
- Planning and scheduling content consistently
- Creating original photos, videos, Reels, Stories, and other social content
- Working with content provided by our floral design and event teams
- Capturing behind-the-scenes moments in the shop, weddings, events, installations, and everyday floral life
- Photographing and filming our work at weddings and events when needed
- Creating content that showcases our designs, designers, flowers, shop, personality, and brand
- Staying current with Instagram trends, Reels, sounds, formats, and emerging content styles
- Finding creative ways to make our work stop the scroll
- Engaging with our audience, responding to comments and messages, and helping build our online community
- Looking at analytics and engagement to understand what is working and continually improve
- Growing our following and overall digital presence
- Brainstorming collaborations, campaigns, promotions, seasonal content, and new ways to tell our story
Instagram is our primary focus right now, with the goal of expanding into TikTok as our content strategy grows.
We want someone who doesn't simply post pretty pictures of flowers. We want someone who understands branding, storytelling, personality, and what makes people want to follow along.
EMAIL MARKETING
You will also take ownership of our established email list, including:
- Developing a consistent email marketing calendar
- Brainstorming campaign ideas
- Writing engaging email copy
- Designing email campaigns
- Selecting and editing photography and content
- Scheduling and sending campaigns
- Creating seasonal, retail, wedding, event, and promotional emails
- Reviewing performance and engagement
- Growing and nurturing our existing audience
We want our emails to feel just as beautiful, creative, and uniquely The Flower Company as our flowers.
WEDDINGS + EVENTS
A huge part of our business is weddings, luxury events, and floral installations — and we want to show the world what happens behind the scenes.
You may have the opportunity to:
- Photograph and film wedding and event installations
- Capture behind-the-scenes footage of our designers at work
- Create Reels and Stories from event days
- Document floral deliveries, installations, transformations, and breakdowns
- Help create content around our favorite venues, vendors, clients, and creative partners
This is where we really want you to have fun.
See a floral chandelier going up? Get the shot.
A room transforming before your eyes? Film it.
A designer making something incredible? Capture it.
We want someone who is constantly looking for the story.
SHOP + TEAM SUPPORT
While social media and content are the primary focus, this is not a desk-only position.
You will also assist our team with:
- Customer service and helping customers in the shop
- Processing and conditioning fresh flowers
- Assisting our floral designers
- Preparing flowers and supplies for weddings and events
- Keeping the shop clean, organized, and beautiful
- General shop operations
- Assisting with event production when needed
- Jumping in wherever the team needs an extra set of hands
We believe that the best content comes from actually being part of the business.
You will get to see how the flowers arrive, how they are processed, how designs are created, how weddings come together, and all the beautiful chaos in between.
YOU MIGHT BE OUR PERSON IF...
- You are extremely creative and have ideas constantly
- You have a strong visual eye and understand aesthetics
- You love flowers, fashion, interiors, weddings, events, design, and beautiful things
- You naturally notice details other people miss
- You understand what makes people stop scrolling
- You are comfortable creating content with your phone
- You know how to make a great Reel — or are excited to become really good at it
- You understand Instagram and social media trends
- You are an excellent writer and communicator
- You are organized and can actually stick to a content calendar
- You can work independently and take an idea from concept to completion
- You are comfortable being flexible when the day doesn't go exactly as planned
- You have a fun personality and aren't afraid to let it show
- You are willing to get your hands dirty with flowers
- You are a team player who is happy to jump in wherever needed
- You have sparkle.
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience managing social media for businesses, brands, organizations, or other professional accounts is strongly preferred.
Experience growing an account, increasing engagement, developing content strategies, and managing social media for other businesses is especially important.
Please include examples of your work, social accounts you've managed, a portfolio, or anything that shows us what you can do.
We care more about creative instinct, initiative, and proven results than simply having a degree or checking every box.
Floral design experience is a major bonus, but not required.
If you are interested in learning floral design and becoming more involved with our design team, there is potential for this position to grow into a full-time role combining social media, marketing, and floral design.
COMPENSATION
$18–$22 per hour, depending on experience.
15–40 hours per week, depending on availability and role.
Hours may include weekdays as well as occasional evenings or weekends for weddings, events, content creation, or special projects.
There is significant potential for growth for the right person.

Content Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a content manager in New Jersey?
Most content managers in New Jersey are hired based on a combination of a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or English, plus a demonstrable portfolio of published work. No state-issued license or certification is required for the role in New Jersey. Employers in the state's pharmaceutical and financial services sectors often look for additional familiarity with regulated content guidelines, and certifications from recognized bodies like HubSpot Academy or the Content Marketing Institute can strengthen a candidate's profile significantly.
Which companies hire content managers in New Jersey?
Employers hiring content managers in New Jersey right now include New York Life, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Novartis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, financial services firms, and media companies makes it one of the more active states for content roles in the mid-Atlantic region.
Which New Jersey cities have the most content manager jobs?
Jersey City, Princeton, and East Hanover have the most content manager openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City benefit from their proximity to New York City and host large financial, insurance, and media operations, while Princeton draws content roles from the research, pharmaceutical, and education sectors anchored by major corporate campuses and institutions in that corridor.
Are there remote content manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields. Content management is predominantly a desk-based and digital role, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 56% of content manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly the role has shifted away from on-site requirements. Strategy, editing, and SEO-focused positions tend to be the most consistently remote.
How can I get hired as a content manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to start in a content coordinator or junior copywriter role, which are regularly posted by New Jersey's pharmaceutical, financial, and media employers for candidates without prior management experience. Building a portfolio through freelance work, internships, or in-house brand projects is what most New Jersey hiring managers want to see at the entry level. Large employers in the Princeton and Parsippany corridors often post rotational marketing associate programs that include content responsibilities and are open to recent graduates.
