Controller Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a controller in New Hampshire?
Most New Hampshire employers require a CPA license, which is issued and overseen by the New Hampshire Board of Accountancy after passing the Uniform CPA Examination. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is the standard educational foundation. Many controllers also hold a master's degree in accounting or an MBA. Candidates without a CPA sometimes qualify with a CMA credential and deep industry experience, particularly in manufacturing or healthcare settings common in the state.
Which companies hire controllers in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire controller roles are posted by Jobot, BAE Systems USA, and Tecomet and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's mix of defense contractors, regional hospital systems, and financial services firms creates steady demand for controllers with both industry-specific and general GAAP expertise.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most controller jobs?
Nashua, Concord, and Rochester lead New Hampshire for controller openings. Manchester and Nashua drive volume as the state's largest commercial centers, home to financial services firms, healthcare systems, and manufacturing operations, while Concord adds openings through state government agencies and insurance companies headquartered near the state capital.
Are there remote controller jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, though they represent a smaller share than in purely analytical roles since controllers typically oversee on-site accounting teams and close cycles tied to physical operations. About 38% of controller openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the remote segment most common in SaaS, financial services, and multi-site organizations that allow off-site oversight of distributed finance functions.
How can I get hired as a controller in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a senior accountant or accounting manager role at a New Hampshire hospital system, regional bank, or mid-size manufacturer, where finance departments are large enough to promote from within. Firms affiliated with the New Hampshire Society of CPAs often post associate-level openings that serve as a direct pipeline. Completing the CPA exam early and gaining ERP experience in staff roles at employers like regional credit unions or Dartmouth Health affiliates gives candidates a meaningful edge over those without credentials.
Where can I find and apply to controller jobs in New Hampshire?
You can find and apply to controller jobs in New Hampshire on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, identify the roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit. No sign-up is required to see the openings.
