Data Analytics Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics manager in Utah?
Most data analytics manager roles in Utah require a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, or business analytics, with a master's degree increasingly preferred at larger employers. There is no state-issued license for this role in Utah. Employers in Salt Lake City and the Silicon Slopes corridor typically expect candidates to have several years of hands-on analytics work before moving into management, often progressing through senior analyst or team lead positions first.
How much do data analytics managers make in Utah?
Data analytics managers in Utah earn a median of about $108,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,680 for the lowest 10% to over $167,890 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics managers in Utah?
Companies currently hiring data analytics managers in Utah include Zions Bancorporation, Northrop Grumman, and University of Utah, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's concentration of technology firms along the Silicon Slopes corridor and large healthcare systems such as Intermountain Health means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than a single sector.
Which Utah cities have the most data analytics manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, Midvale, and South Jordan account for the largest share of data analytics manager openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors demand through its finance, healthcare, and enterprise technology employers, while Lehi and Provo benefit from the dense cluster of software and SaaS companies in the Silicon Slopes area that consistently hire analytics leadership.
Are there remote data analytics manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields, since data analytics management is largely a desk-based, digital role that transfers well to remote settings. About 93% of data analytics manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across the tech and financial services sectors. Strategic planning and stakeholder-facing responsibilities tend to be the functions most commonly retained in-office.
How can I get hired as a data analytics manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a junior or senior analytics analyst role at a Utah technology or healthcare employer, then building toward management from within. Companies in the Silicon Slopes corridor regularly hire for associate analyst and data analyst positions that serve as a pipeline. Earning a recognized certification such as a Google Data Analytics Certificate or an AWS data specialty credential strengthens early applications. Lateral moves from business intelligence developer or reporting analyst roles at employers like Intermountain Health or local fintech firms are also a proven route.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to data analytics manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in Salt Lake City, Provo, Lehi, and other Utah locations. Search the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match your experience and target industry.
