Position Description:
Valparaiso University seeks a Director of Adult Learning Partnerships to build and manage a portfolio of corporate, healthcare, government, and nonprofit employer relationships that bring Valpo's graduate degrees, certificates, and credit-bearing professional education directly to working adults.
This is an external-facing, revenue-generating role. The Director is responsible for identifying employers whose workforce development needs align with Valpo's academic strengths, negotiating the agreements that formalize those relationships, and working with the Provost, deans, and program faculty to shape offerings that meet a specific employer's needs without compromising academic quality or accreditation standards.
The position anchors the employer-facing segment of the University's lifelong learning strategy. Success will be measured in signed agreements, enrolled students, net tuition revenue, and durable multi-year partnerships.
Major Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective employer partners across Northwest Indiana, the greater Chicago region, and select national employers with concentrations of Valpo alumni or program-relevant workforces.
- Conduct discovery with senior HR, talent development, and operating leaders to identify credential gaps, succession needs, tuition assistance underutilization, and skills shortages that Valpo programs can address.
- Prioritize prospects based on workforce size, tuition benefit structure, program fit, and realistic enrollment yield; maintain disciplined records in the University's CRM.
- Represent Valparaiso University at regional chambers, workforce boards, industry associations, and employer meetings and events.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred
2-5 years experience in sales, workforce development or corporate relations.
Other Qualifications:
Ability to learn and understand Valpo's graduate and undergraduate offerings, and develop workforce partnerships with business and industry in the NW Indiana market.
Salary Range: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00
