Ecommerce Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ecommerce manager in New York?
New York does not require a state-issued license to work as an ecommerce manager, so the path centers on education and demonstrated platform experience. Most New York employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Candidates who build hands-on experience managing Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or Amazon Seller Central accounts, even through internships or freelance projects, move fastest into manager-level roles at the city's dense retail and brand headquarters.
How much do ecommerce managers make in New York?
Ecommerce managers in New York earn a median of about $181,200 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,140 for the lowest 10% to over $324,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ecommerce managers in New York?
Employers hiring ecommerce managers in New York right now include Dyson, NBCUniversal, and The New York Times, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of flagship retail headquarters, fashion houses, and direct-to-consumer brands means steady, year-round demand that tends to run deeper than in most other states.
Which New York cities have the most ecommerce manager jobs?
New York, Garden City, and New York City have the most ecommerce manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is home to the North American headquarters of hundreds of retail, fashion, beauty, and media companies, while surrounding areas like Long Island and Westchester pick up additional volume from regional distribution centers and mid-market brands based outside the urban core.
Are there remote ecommerce manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 18% of ecommerce manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role relies on analytics dashboards, platform tools, and digital communication rather than physical presence. The parts of the job most likely to remain fully remote are performance reporting, campaign management, and vendor coordination.
How can I get hired as a ecommerce manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a coordinator or analyst role within the ecommerce or digital marketing team of a New York retailer or brand, then building toward management. Large New York employers like Macy's, L'Oréal USA, and VF Corporation regularly hire entry-level ecommerce coordinators and digital merchandising associates. Candidates who can show hands-on Shopify or Amazon Seller Central work, a portfolio of campaigns they have managed, or a relevant internship at a New York agency gain a clear edge over those without it.
Where can I find and apply to ecommerce manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to ecommerce manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated in real time. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to each one.
