Position Summary

The Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Supervisor is the first-line leader for maintenance coworkers at the Cresco manufacturing facility and a hands-on technical resource for production resources. Reporting to the North America Maintenance & Facilities Manager, this position directs daily maintenance execution, develops the maintenance team, leads complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and equipment reliability improvements. Additional responsibilities include automation and equipment installation.

This is a site-focused, player-coach role. The position executes Cresco maintenance priorities within the strategies, standards, budgets, and capital plans established by the North America Maintenance & Facilities Manager and works closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality, and Supply Chain to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day work of Cresco maintenance technicians and skilled trades, including work assignment, prioritization, shift coverage, and coordination of planned and emergency maintenance activities.
• Coach, train, and develop maintenance coworkers; set clear expectations; provide ongoing feedback; complete performance reviews; and address attendance, conduct, and performance matters in partnership with Human Resources and the North America Maintenance & Facilities Manager.
• Lead maintenance work with a safety-first approach and ensure compliance with lockout/tagout, electrical safety, machine guarding, confined-space, hot-work, environmental, and other applicable company and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the senior hands-on technical resource for complex mechanical, electrical, PLC/control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated equipment issues, coordinating breakdown response and supporting repairs when required.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans; monitor schedule and PM compliance; manage the site maintenance backlog; and escalate resource, equipment, or production risks promptly.
• Drive consistent use of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including complete work orders, accurate equipment history, failure codes, labor and parts information, and reliable maintenance data.
• Track and use maintenance and reliability measures such as downtime, PM compliance, schedule attainment, backlog, mean time between failures, mean time to repair, and recurring failure trends to improve performance.
• Lead structured root cause analysis for significant or recurring equipment failures, assign corrective actions, and verify that solutions are completed and sustained.
• Partner with Production, Engineering, EHS, and Quality to eliminate chronic equipment losses, improve reliability and overall equipment effectiveness, and support Lean, TPM, and other continuous improvement activities.
• Support assigned capital projects, equipment installations, commissioning, start-up, and process changes by providing technical input, coordinating maintenance resources, and ensuring maintenance documentation and training are completed.
• Assist as backup in day-to-day contractor and service-vendor activity and help maintain appropriate spare-parts availability within approved plans, purchasing processes, and spending authority.
• Support the selection and onboarding of maintenance coworkers and help build technical depth, cross-training, and succession capability within the Cresco maintenance team.
• Communicate equipment condition, maintenance performance, resource needs, and emerging risks to the North America Maintenance & Facilities Manager and plant leadership.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Reliability Engineering; Engineering Technology; or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible industrial maintenance experience.
• At least five years of progressive industrial maintenance or reliability experience in a manufacturing environment, including direct leadership of skilled maintenance coworkers, team leads, or comparable formal responsibility for daily work execution.
• Demonstrated ability to coach coworkers, assign and follow up on work, manage performance, and build accountability in a skilled-trades environment.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC/control, and automated manufacturing systems, with the ability to lead complex troubleshooting and repairs.
• Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, capital improvements, contractors, and external technical service providers.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance, 6S, Kaizen, or other structured continuous improvement methods is preferred.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with hourly coworkers, technical specialists, production leaders, and senior management.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Frequent presence in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, vibration, dust, heat, lubricants, industrial chemicals, and varying temperatures, with required personal protective equipment provided.
• Regular standing and walking throughout production, warehouse, and maintenance areas, with frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs, ladders, or elevated platforms as needed to inspect and access equipment.
• Ability to use tools and handle parts and components, read schematics and technical documents, and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with mechanical or team assistance used for heavier loads.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency situations, and to participate in on-call coverage as required to support Cresco manufacturing operations.
