What Employers Look For
The qualifications that appear most often in epic analyst jobs.
- Active Epic certification in one or more modules such as Ambulatory, Inpatient, or Resolute
- Two or more years of hands-on Epic build, configuration, or implementation experience
- Experience supporting end users and translating clinical or operational workflows into system design
- Bachelor's degree in health informatics, information technology, healthcare administration, or a related field
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or interface troubleshooting within a healthcare IT environment
- Ability to travel to client or facility sites for go-live events or on-site support engagements
Tips for Your Epic Analyst Job Search
List your Epic module certifications prominently
Recruiters filter by module first. Name every certified application you hold, such as Inpatient, Ambulatory, or Resolute, at the top of your resume. Burying certifications in a skills section costs you screenings from automated applicant tracking systems.
Tailor your resume to the module in the posting
An epic analyst opening for a revenue cycle role is different from one focused on clinical documentation. Match your bullet points to the specific module listed. Generic resumes that list all modules without context read as unfocused to hiring managers.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists epic analyst openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Highlight go-live and build experience separately
Health systems hiring for new implementations value go-live support experience differently than those optimizing an existing build. Call out whether your background is in greenfield implementations, upgrades, or optimization projects so your fit is immediately clear.
Prepare a workflow walkthrough for your interview
Many epic analyst interviews include a technical exercise where you explain how a specific workflow or build decision works. Practice walking through a real build you configured, focusing on why you made the choices you did, not just what the end result was.
Negotiate your remote or travel arrangement early
Epic analyst roles vary widely from fully on-site go-live support to fully remote optimization work. Ask explicitly about travel expectations, on-call rotations, and remote eligibility before the offer stage so there are no surprises on either side.
Epic Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most epic analysts?
The companies hiring the most epic analysts right now include CVS Health, Optum, and Northwell Health, with the largest share of openings in Texas, Massachusetts, and Florida, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Health systems undergoing major EHR upgrades or new module rollouts tend to post the highest volume of openings at any given time.
How many epic analyst jobs are remote?
About 35% of epic analyst openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the rest requiring on-site or travel-based work. Optimization, reporting, and training roles are more likely to be remote, while go-live support and new implementation positions typically require regular on-site presence at the health system.
How do you become an epic analyst?
Start by earning a degree in health informatics, information technology, or a clinical field, then pursue Epic certification through an employer or a credentialed training program. Most analysts enter the field through healthcare IT consulting firms or health system IT departments. Building hands-on experience in workflow analysis, end-user support, or system configuration accelerates your path to a standalone analyst role.
Can you get an epic analyst job with little or no experience?
Yes, entry-level epic analyst roles exist, typically as implementation support specialists or go-live support contractors who train under credentialed analysts. A clinical background as a nurse, pharmacist, or medical biller is a strong substitute for direct Epic experience and often fast-tracks certification eligibility. Completing an Epic training program through a consulting firm is the most common path for candidates without a health system background.
What does the epic analyst interview process look like?
The process typically starts with a recruiter screen focused on your module certifications and project history, followed by a technical interview where you walk through a real workflow or build scenario you have configured. Many employers include a panel interview with clinical or operational stakeholders who assess whether you can translate their needs into system design. Some roles include a take-home build exercise or a live demonstration in a test environment.
Where can I find and apply to epic analyst jobs?
You can find and apply to epic analyst jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your module certifications, experience level, and work arrangement preference, then apply directly to each one that fits.
