We are seeking a highly organized Project and Events Manager to join BrainMind, a nonprofit accelerating innovation in neuroscience and neurotechnology. BrainMind connects scientists, founders, investors, and funders through summits, topic-focused salons, curated introductions, grantmaking, and free educational content on brain health, with a network of more than 5,000 members across the global brain science community. The Project and Events Manager will work alongside our external events team to plan BrainMind's summits and salons and will support the President and Chief of Staff across programs, grants, the member network, and design. BrainMind is looking for someone who wants to work for a highly impactful organization that supports getting life-changing technologies out to people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Summits and salons
- Help to lead operations for one BrainMind summit and 6 to 10 salons
- Example: Support smooth production of an evening with 30 participants on music and the mind, co-hosted with Carnegie Hall representatives in a five-story Manhattan brownstone, with a private performance by a world-renowned cellist and Q and A with a well-known neuroscientist
- Member database and introductions
- Keep the 5,000+ member database accurate and current
- Research for curated ecosystem introductions
- Example: Querying the ecosystem to find relevant individuals (funders, industry collaborators, etc) to introduce to an academic researcher spinning out a startup to scale a neuroscience-informed protocol to address addiction and chronic pain.
- Communications
- Monitor one of the President’s inboxes for important and time sensitive emails
- Draft emails and outgoing communications to BrainMind's ecosystem, from invitations and updates to introductions
- Operations
- Support the Chief of Staff and President with organizational operations and special projects
- Example: Conduct deep research on efficacious, consumer-ready brain health interventions to present to a third party interested in investing in the space
- Internal admin and team coordination
- Schedule calls and coordinate calendars across the team
- Book travel and meetings for the President, event speakers, etc

Qualifications:
- Recent graduate with bachelors degree
- A background or strong interest in neuroscience and/or biotech
- Comfort with Adobe Creative Suite and or excitement to learn these skills on the job
- Interest in growing into a Chief of Staff role and staying with BrainMind for the long term
- Helpful but not required: 1 to 2 years of experience in event planning, program coordination, or operations
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
