Oak & Iron Exteriors
Philipsburg / State College, Pennsylvania
Full-Time | Field-Based
Expected First-Year Compensation: $80,000–$140,000
Build a Real Career in a Growing Pennsylvania Market
Oak & Iron Exteriors is expanding throughout Central Pennsylvania, and we are building a local team to serve homeowners in the Philipsburg, State College, and surrounding areas.
We are hiring both Junior and Senior Exterior Solutions Consultants.
This is a customer-facing, field-based sales position focused on meeting homeowners, identifying exterior concerns, scheduling inspections, developing customer relationships, and helping qualified homeowners move forward with roofing, siding, and exterior restoration projects.
This is not a desk job, and it is not a position where business simply arrives in your inbox. Successful consultants actively develop opportunities through neighborhood outreach, referrals, local relationships, community events, follow-up, and consistent field activity.
We provide guaranteed weekly base pay, a vehicle stipend, structured training, and project-based commission.
Compensation
All Exterior Solutions Consultants receive:
- $850 in guaranteed weekly base pay
- Monthly vehicle stipend
- Commission on eligible projects
- Structured training and continued development
- Performance incentives
- Advancement opportunities as our Pennsylvania operation expands
Commission level is determined by relevant experience:
Junior Exterior Solutions Consultant
- $850 weekly base pay
- Monthly vehicle stipend
- 3% commission on eligible projects
- Expected first-year compensation of approximately $80,000–$105,000
Senior Exterior Solutions Consultant
- $850 weekly base pay
- Monthly vehicle stipend
- 5% commission on eligible projects
- Expected first-year compensation of approximately $105,000–$140,000+
Our average project value is approximately $23,000. At that project value:
- A Junior Consultant earns approximately $690 in commission per eligible project
- A Senior Consultant earns approximately $1,150 in commission per eligible project
New consultants should expect an initial three-to-six-month period focused on training, field development, relationship building, and creating a consistent customer pipeline.
After the initial development period, consultants are expected to average at least two qualified project sales per week.
At that established production level, annual compensation would be approximately:
- $118,000 for a Junior Consultant
- $166,000 for a Senior Consultant
These figures are examples and are not guaranteed. Actual compensation depends on project volume, project value, cancellations, commission eligibility, project completion, payment collection, and individual performance.
What You Will Do
- Meet homeowners throughout the Philipsburg, State College, and surrounding communities
- Generate opportunities through neighborhood outreach, referrals, community events, networking, and local relationship building
- Speak with homeowners about roofing, siding, storm damage, and exterior concerns
- Schedule qualified homeowners for complimentary exterior inspections
- Conduct or assist with property inspections after completing required training
- Document exterior conditions using photographs, notes, measurements, and company technology
- Explain Oak & Iron Exteriors’ process clearly and professionally
- Help homeowners understand the general steps involved in an exterior restoration or insurance-related project
- Present appropriate exterior solutions and help qualified homeowners make informed decisions
- Follow up consistently with homeowners and maintain an organized sales pipeline
- Obtain signed agreements and required project documentation
- Work closely with account managers, customer experience coordinators, estimators, production teams, and company leadership
- Maintain accurate customer notes, activity, appointments, and project updates in the company CRM
- Attend scheduled team meetings, training sessions, and sales-development activities
- Represent Oak & Iron Exteriors professionally in the community
Performance Expectations
This is a performance-driven position with meaningful earning potential.
During the first three to six months, consultants are expected to learn the company’s process, develop their communication and inspection skills, consistently work in the field, and build a qualified customer pipeline.
Once the initial pipeline-development period is complete, the minimum ongoing expectation is an average of two qualified project sales per week.
Successful consultants consistently:
- Create new opportunities instead of waiting for leads
- Maintain disciplined field activity
- Build trust quickly with homeowners
- Ask strong questions and listen carefully
- Follow up when they say they will
- Maintain an organized pipeline
- Accurately document customer conversations and next steps
- Respond positively to coaching
- Remain productive when facing rejection
- Help homeowners feel educated rather than pressured
- Meet or exceed established activity and sales expectations
- Contribute to a competitive, supportive, and accountable team culture

- Coachability
- Competitive drive
- Consistent work ethic
- Comfort working outdoors and in local neighborhoods
- The ability to manage time and follow a structured process
- A willingness to learn roofing, siding, sales, and insurance-restoration processes

Solutions Consultant Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a solutions consultant in Maryland?
Most solutions consultant roles in Maryland require a bachelor's degree in business, information technology, computer science, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in sales engineering or technical consulting. Maryland does not require a state-issued license for this role. Candidates pursuing federal or defense-adjacent positions benefit from obtaining or being eligible for a security clearance, and earning vendor certifications from companies like Salesforce, AWS, or Microsoft significantly strengthens applications with Maryland's large contractor employers.
Which companies hire solutions consultants in Maryland?
Employers hiring solutions consultants in Maryland right now include Amazon Web Services, Cardinal Health, and Method Roofing & Solar, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of federal contractors and enterprise IT firms means many openings are tied to government agency clients, making security clearance eligibility a recurring advantage.
Which Maryland cities have the most solutions consultant jobs?
Jessup, Maryland, and Baltimore account for the largest share of solutions consultant openings in Maryland. The Baltimore metro anchors much of the hiring through its base of financial services firms, health systems, and IT services companies, while Bethesda and the I-270 technology corridor draw openings from federal contractors and government-facing SaaS vendors serving agencies concentrated in the greater Washington area.
Are there remote solutions consultant jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since solutions consulting often involves virtual demos and remote discovery calls. About 50% of solutions consultant openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and presentation-heavy nature of the work. Presales and post-sales implementation phases tend to be the most remote-friendly, while on-site client visits remain common for enterprise deals.
How can I get hired as a solutions consultant in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a related role such as sales development representative, technical support specialist, or business analyst, which are common stepping stones at Maryland's large IT employers and federal contractors. Companies like Leidos and Booz Allen Hamilton run associate and rotational programs that place early-career candidates into client-facing technical roles. Building a portfolio of product demos, earning a vendor certification in Salesforce or AWS, and targeting smaller Maryland-based managed service providers for a first role can all accelerate the transition.
Where can I find and apply to solutions consultant jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to solutions consultant jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search for roles that fit your background, review the listings that match your experience level and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that align with what you are looking for.
