Field Sales Consultant Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales consultant in Hawaii?
Most field sales consultant roles in Hawaii require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, though demonstrated sales experience can substitute at many employers. Hawaii does not issue a general sales consultant license, but roles in specific verticals require additional credentials: insurance sales requires a Hawaii Producer License issued by the Hawaii Insurance Division, and pharmaceutical or medical device sales favors candidates with clinical or life-sciences backgrounds. Building relationships within Hawaii's tight-knit business community and gaining familiarity with local industries such as tourism, healthcare, and wholesale distribution gives candidates a meaningful edge.
How much do field sales consultants make in Hawaii?
Field sales consultants in Hawaii earn a median of about $58,500 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $29,670 for the lowest 10% to over $101,100 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales consultants in Hawaii?
Hawaii field sales consultant roles are posted by Hawaiian Telcom, SOSi, and Xerox and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's field sales market draws employers from healthcare, telecom, food and beverage distribution, and financial services, all of which maintain dedicated territory teams across the islands.
Which Hawaii cities have the most field sales consultant jobs?
Honolulu, Hawaii, and Oahu Island account for the largest share of field sales consultant openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates due to its density of corporate headquarters, healthcare systems, and wholesale distributors on Oahu, while Hilo and Kailua-Kona attract openings tied to Hawaii Island's growing healthcare infrastructure and tourism-adjacent businesses that require dedicated field representatives.
Are there remote field sales consultant jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales consulting is inherently territory-based and relationship-driven, so most roles require in-person client visits and on-site presence. About 15% of field sales consultant openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how seldom employers substitute virtual contact for face-to-face selling in this role. The parts of the work most suited to remote arrangements are internal reporting, CRM updates, and virtual team check-ins rather than client-facing responsibilities.
How can I get hired as a field sales consultant in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an inside sales or sales development representative role at a Hawaii-based distributor or insurance agency, which builds the territory management skills employers look for before promoting to a full field role. Companies like Servco Pacific and regional healthcare distributors on Oahu occasionally hire associate sales representatives for supervised territory work. Earning a Hawaii Producer License through the Hawaii Insurance Division immediately qualifies you for entry-level field roles in insurance. Candidates transitioning from customer service, retail management, or hospitality roles at Hawaii resorts and hotel groups also move into field sales successfully because local relationship-building translates directly.
Where can I find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across Honolulu, Hilo, Kailua-Kona, and other locations throughout the state. Search the listings, identify roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
