Plans, directs, and coordinates the financial activities of the assigned signature service line(s) across WVU Hospitals (WVUH) and University Health Associates (UHA). Financial oversight includes budget development, variance analysis, financial forecasting and management reporting. This position will work closely with the service line leadership team(s) to ensure accurate budgeting and strong monitoring of financial results across the clinical and research aspects of the service line(s). In addition, the position will lead a team of financial analysts in providing day-to-day financial support to service line leadership.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Five (5) years of experience in accounting/finance field.
2. Two (2) years of experience with demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) OR Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.

1. Experience in Healthcare or Research Industry.

1. Facilitates the annual strategy and budget process for the service line(s) in collaboration with the leadership team.
2. Leads and manages complex financial projects in collaboration with appropriate leadership and foundation organizations
3. Leads the establishment of robust financial processes and protocol for the research and commercialization business of the service line(s), including analyzing new opportunities, forecasting, monitoring and reporting financial results.
4. Leads day to day financial operations for the service line(s), including serving as service line liaison to Revenue Cycle departments for both WVUH & UHA.
5. Oversees the capital budget process for the service line(s) with directors and managers in accordance with WVUH and UHA capital budget procedures and policies.
6. Oversees on-going actual-to-budget variance analysis and forecasting. Communicates directly with service line and Finance leadership regarding negative variances.
7. Continuously identifies budget performance improvement and margin enhancement opportunities and communicate to Finance and service line leadership.
8. Directs and evaluates financial processes to maximize efficiency in daily service line Finance operations.
9. Coordinates the completion of financial analysis related to and in support of new services, provider and staffing needs, and long term strategic initiatives of the service line(s).
10. Collaborates with Finance & Reimbursement team on the completion of larger scale financial projections related to the service line(s).
11. Oversees the work and development of the relevant financial analyst team.
