Finance Systems Manager Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance systems manager in Illinois?
Most finance systems managers in Illinois start with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or business administration. Illinois does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers across Chicago's corporate corridor and suburban business parks typically expect several years of hands-on ERP or financial systems experience. Earning a CPA through the Illinois Board of Examiners or a CMA credential strengthens candidacy considerably for senior roles.
Which companies hire finance systems managers in Illinois?
Employers hiring finance systems managers in Illinois right now include EY, Aon, and AbbVie, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Illinois's density of Fortune 500 headquarters, major insurance carriers, and large healthcare networks makes it one of the more active states for this role year-round.
Which Illinois cities have the most finance systems manager jobs?
The cities with the most finance systems manager openings in Illinois are Chicago, Oak Brook, and Mettawa. Chicago drives the largest share given its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and healthcare systems, while suburban corridors like Downers Grove and Schaumburg attract hiring from large insurance and technology companies that base their Midwest finance operations there.

Yes, and more than most fields. Finance systems management is largely desk-based and systems-oriented, making it well suited to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 100% of finance systems manager openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader corporate flexibility. Roles focused on ERP configuration, financial reporting, and systems analysis tend to offer the most remote flexibility compared to positions requiring on-site implementation oversight.
