Financial Consultant Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial consultant in Oregon?
Most financial consultant roles in Oregon require passing the FINRA Series 65 exam, which registers you as an Investment Adviser Representative through the Oregon Division of Financial Regulation. Some employers accept a Series 66 combined with a Series 7 in its place. A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting is the standard educational baseline. Earning a CFP designation significantly strengthens your candidacy, and many Oregon firms will sponsor the coursework after hire.
Which companies hire financial consultants in Oregon?
Oregon financial consultant roles are posted by Wealthbridge Financial, Oregon State Credit Union, and Ryder System and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's strong community banking presence and growing independent wealth management firms mean openings appear across both large institutions and boutique advisory practices.
Which Oregon cities have the most financial consultant jobs?
Salem, Bend, and Eugene account for the largest share of financial consultant openings in Oregon. Portland dominates as the state's commercial and banking center, while Eugene's university presence and Bend's rapid population growth have created consistent demand for personal financial planning and small-business advisory services.
Are there remote financial consultant jobs in Oregon?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 100% of financial consultant openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves digital meetings, online planning tools, and phone-based client relationships. Portfolio review, financial plan preparation, and ongoing client advisory sessions are the parts of the role most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a financial consultant in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a financial analyst or client associate role at an Oregon-based bank or credit union such as Umpqua Bank, OnPoint Community Credit Union, or a regional Merrill Lynch branch, then transitioning into a consultant track once licensed. Pursuing your Series 65 while working in an adjacent role like a bank teller, loan officer, or investment operations associate shows intent and often opens internal doors. Oregon's larger wealth management firms regularly hire new graduates into associate advisor programs designed to build licensing and a client book over two to three years.
Where can I find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to financial consultant jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and credentials, then apply directly through each listing.
