FP&A Analyst Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a fp&a analyst in Massachusetts?
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics is the standard starting point for fp&a analyst roles in Massachusetts. No state-issued license is required, but employers in Boston's financial services and life sciences sectors strongly favor candidates who have begun or completed the CFA or CPA credential. Most Massachusetts employers expect hands-on experience with financial modeling and a working knowledge of enterprise planning software before considering candidates for analyst-level roles.
How much do FP&A analysts make in Massachusetts?
FP&A analysts in Massachusetts earn a median of about $111,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,940 for the lowest 10% to over $205,320 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire fp&a analysts in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring fp&a analysts in Massachusetts right now include Formlabs, Raytheon, and Teradyne, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of asset managers, biotech firms, and defense contractors means fp&a analyst demand is spread across multiple industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most fp&a analyst jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Andover have the most fp&a analyst openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share of demand through its dense financial services and healthcare anchor institutions, while Cambridge and Waltham attract openings from the life sciences and technology companies clustered along Route 128 and in Kendall Square.
Are there remote fp&a analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 73% of fp&a analyst openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling tasks translate well to remote arrangements, though roles requiring close collaboration with executive teams or business unit partners are more likely to require at least partial on-site presence in Boston or Waltham.
How can I get hired as a fp&a analyst in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst rotational program at one of Massachusetts's large corporate employers, such as those run by major life sciences companies or financial institutions headquartered in the Boston metro area. Candidates often move into fp&a analyst roles laterally from accounting, audit, or business operations positions. Completing even a partial CFA curriculum, building a financial modeling portfolio, and targeting smaller biotech or technology firms in the Route 128 corridor, which tend to have less competitive applicant pools than downtown Boston employers, gives candidates a genuine edge.
Where can I find and apply to fp&a analyst jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to fp&a analyst jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
