FP&A Analyst Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a fp&a analyst in Texas?
The path to an fp&a analyst role in Texas starts with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, as no state-issued license is required for the position. Most Texas employers expect candidates to demonstrate hands-on Excel modeling ability and familiarity with a major ERP system. A CPA or CFA designation accelerates progression into senior roles, particularly at Houston energy firms and Dallas-Fort Worth corporate headquarters. Internships or rotational programs at large Texas companies are the most reliable entry point.
How much do FP&A analysts make in Texas?
FP&A analysts in Texas earn a median of about $99,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,230 for the lowest 10% to over $169,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire fp&a analysts in Texas?
Employers hiring fp&a analysts in Texas right now include Riveron, Equinix, and McKesson, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy headquarters, Fortune 500 corporate offices, and large regional health systems means fp&a openings are distributed across multiple industries rather than dominated by a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most fp&a analyst jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most fp&a analyst openings in Texas. Houston drives volume through its energy sector headquarters and medical center institutions, Dallas-Fort Worth reflects the region's dense corporate campus corridor along the LBJ and 635 corridors, and Austin's growth is tied to its expanding technology and consumer finance companies that have relocated or scaled in the city over the past decade.
Are there remote fp&a analyst jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since fp&a work is desk-based and output is delivered through reports, models, and presentations that translate well to distributed teams. About 21% of fp&a analyst openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting genuine flexibility in the function. Roles focused on financial reporting, long-range planning, and executive deck preparation are the most likely to carry remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a fp&a analyst in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a rotational finance program or analyst development track at a large Texas employer such as an energy major, regional bank, or hospital system. Candidates coming from accounting, audit, or financial operations roles are regularly considered for junior fp&a positions because the analytical foundation transfers directly. Building a portfolio of self-initiated financial models and earning an Excel or financial modeling certification gives a concrete edge when competing for roles that list experience requirements.
Where can I find and apply to fp&a analyst jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to fp&a analyst jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, and other markets in the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly from each listing without any additional steps.
