FP&A Analyst Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a fp&a analyst in New York?
Most fp&a analyst roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics, and there is no state-issued license required to work in the role. New York employers, particularly those in financial services and healthcare, strongly prefer candidates who have completed an internship or rotational program and can demonstrate hands-on modeling experience. A CFA or CPA credential significantly strengthens applications for roles at major New York corporations or investment firms.
How much do FP&A analysts make in New York?
FP&A analysts in New York earn a median of about $127,930 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,540 for the lowest 10% to over $225,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire fp&a analysts in New York?
Employers hiring fp&a analysts in New York right now include Medidata Solutions, Amazon, and PwC, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's dense concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, global banks, and large healthcare systems means fp&a openings are distributed across a wider range of industries than in most other states.
Which New York cities have the most fp&a analyst jobs?
New York, Inwood, and Buffalo have the most fp&a analyst openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is home to the headquarters of major financial institutions, media conglomerates, and corporate offices, while smaller markets like White Plains and Buffalo reflect regional corporate campuses and healthcare systems that maintain their own finance and planning teams.
Are there remote fp&a analyst jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields, since fp&a analyst work is analytical and desk-based rather than on-site or hands-on. About 74% of fp&a analyst openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly New York employers have maintained flexible arrangements for finance roles. Forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling tasks are the functions most consistently offered remotely.
How can I get hired as a fp&a analyst in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a financial analyst rotational program at a large New York employer, with firms like JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and major healthcare systems running structured programs for recent graduates. Lateral moves from accounting, audit, or data analyst roles are common, and building a portfolio of Excel models or completing an Anaplan or Hyperion certification adds meaningful weight to an application targeting junior fp&a openings in the city.
Where can I find and apply to fp&a analyst jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to fp&a analyst jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to New York employers. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your background and preferences, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
