Hotel Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hotel worker in Indiana?
Most hotel roles in Indiana do not require a state-issued license, but food and beverage positions require a food handler certification through an Indiana Health Department-approved provider, and anyone serving alcohol must complete an approved responsible alcohol server training program. For management tracks, a degree in hospitality management from a program at Purdue University or Indiana University strengthens candidacy. Many properties promote from within, so starting in a front desk or housekeeping role is a common entry path.
Which companies hire hotels in Indiana?
Indiana hotel roles are posted by Coury Hospitality, JSK Hospitality, and Holiday Inn Express and Suites and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indiana's convention-driven market in Indianapolis means major full-service brands maintain a consistent hiring presence year-round.
Which Indiana cities have the most hotel jobs?
Indianapolis, Carmel, and Merrillville have the most hotel job openings in Indiana. Indianapolis leads because of its convention center, professional sports venues, and dense concentration of full-service and select-service properties, while Fort Wayne and Bloomington see steady demand tied to regional tourism, university visitors, and corporate travel markets anchored by large local employers and institutions.
Are there remote hotel jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they're rare. Most hotel work is hands-on and property-based, so the large majority of roles require an on-site presence. About 2% of hotel openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be corporate office functions such as revenue management, group sales coordination, or regional operations support rather than property-level roles.
How can I get hired as a hotel worker in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to front desk agent, housekeeping, or banquet server openings at full-service Marriott, Hilton, or Hyatt properties in Indianapolis, which regularly hire candidates without prior hotel experience and train on-site. Indiana University and Purdue University's hospitality programs offer internship pipelines with major brands that can convert to full-time roles. Earning a food handler certificate before applying gives candidates an edge for any position that involves food or beverage service.
Where can I find and apply to hotel jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to hotel jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings across property types and experience levels. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and preferred location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
