Hotel Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hotel in Massachusetts?
Most entry-level hotel roles in Massachusetts require no specific state license, but food-service positions require a Massachusetts Food Handler Certificate, and bartending roles require a server certification under the Massachusetts Responsible Service of Alcohol program administered by the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission. For management tracks, a degree in hospitality management from a Massachusetts institution like UMass Amherst or Johnson and Wales University in Providence strengthens candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire hotels in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts hotel roles are posted by Colwen Hotel Management, Beauport Hotel Gloucester, and LAFRANCE HOSPITALITY and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's dense convention, corporate, and university district keeps large branded properties among the most consistent hirers in the state throughout the year.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most hotel jobs?
Boston, Framingham, and Foxborough have the most hotel openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives the largest share through its convention center, financial district, and major academic medical institutions that generate steady business travel, while Cambridge's concentration of universities and biotech firms supports strong year-round demand, and Worcester's growing downtown hospitality corridor has added properties that hire across all departments.
Are there remote hotel jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of hotel openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which reflects how hands-on most hotel work is by nature. The roles most likely to allow remote or hybrid arrangements are revenue management, digital marketing, and corporate sales positions attached to hotel management groups or regional hospitality companies rather than individual property teams.
How can I get hired as a hotel in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for front desk agent, housekeeping, or banquet server roles, which are the positions Massachusetts hotel operators most consistently fill without requiring prior hotel experience. Large Boston-area hotel groups and convention properties run structured onboarding programs for new hires, and brands like Marriott and Hilton offer internal development tracks for associates who start in entry-level positions. Completing a Massachusetts Responsible Service of Alcohol certification before applying adds a concrete credential that sets candidates apart for any guest-facing role.
Where can I find and apply to hotel jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to hotel jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings across all hotel departments and experience levels. Search the listings for roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
