Hotel Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hotel worker in Florida?
Most hotel positions in Florida require a high school diploma and are filled through direct employer hiring rather than a state license. Management-track roles benefit from a hospitality or business degree from programs offered at Florida International University, University of Central Florida, or Florida State University. For food and beverage positions, a Florida Food Handler certificate is required and can be obtained through an approved state provider online or in person.
Which companies hire hotels in Florida?
Employers hiring hotels in Florida right now include McKibbon Hospitality, Schulte Hospitality, and Towne Park, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's resort-heavy markets and major convention destinations mean these employers consistently post openings at multiple properties and seniority levels throughout the year.
Which Florida cities have the most hotel jobs?
Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami Beach have the most hotel openings in Florida. Orlando's volume is driven by its theme parks, convention center, and surrounding resort corridor, while Miami draws demand from international leisure and business travel, and Tampa benefits from a growing meetings and waterfront tourism market that supports full-service hotel properties.
Are there remote hotel jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Hotel work is inherently on-site for most roles, from front desk and housekeeping to food service and concierge. About 3% of hotel openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions are typically concentrated in corporate functions like revenue management, digital marketing, or regional sales rather than property-level operations.
How can I get hired as a hotel worker in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a front desk agent, housekeeping attendant, or food runner role at a full-service Florida property, where employers like Marriott and Hilton routinely hire candidates without prior hotel experience. Large Florida resort operators run structured new-hire onboarding for entry-level associates. Completing a Florida Food Handler certificate before applying strengthens your candidacy for any role that touches food service, and tourism hospitality programs at Florida community colleges can accelerate placement.
Where can I find and apply to hotel jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to hotel jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings at properties and hospitality companies across the state. Search the listings by location or role type, find the positions that match your background and availability, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
