Cleaning Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a cleaning in Florida?
Most cleaning roles in Florida do not require a state-issued license, but healthcare and biohazard cleaning positions often require OSHA bloodborne pathogen training or certification. Employers in Florida's hotel and hospitality sector typically hire entry-level cleaners directly and provide on-the-job training. Building service contracts with Florida school districts or government facilities may require a background screening through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement before a worker can start.
Which companies hire cleanings in Florida?
Florida cleaning roles are posted by Total Cleaning, Marshalls, and Molly Maid and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large tourism infrastructure and growing healthcare sector mean that hotel operators, hospital networks, and commercial facility contractors are among the most consistent sources of cleaning openings statewide.
Which Florida cities have the most cleaning jobs?
Orlando, Miami, and Jacksonville lead Florida for cleaning job openings. Miami's density of luxury hotels, condominiums, and corporate offices drives the largest volume, while Orlando's resort and theme-park industry creates year-round demand, and Tampa's mix of healthcare campuses and commercial real estate generates steady openings for both janitorial and specialized sanitation roles.
Are there remote cleaning jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Cleaning work is hands-on and site-specific by nature, so fully remote positions are uncommon. About 1% of cleaning openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be supervisory, scheduling, or quality-assurance roles rather than frontline cleaning positions.
How can I get hired as a cleaning in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to commercial cleaning contractors such as ABM Industries or Aramark, which regularly hire without prior experience and train new workers on-site at Florida facilities. Hospitality employers across Miami Beach, Orlando's International Drive corridor, and Tampa Bay resorts also hire housekeeping associates at the entry level. Completing a free OSHA ten-hour general industry course strengthens an application and is recognized by Florida healthcare and government facility employers.
Where can I find and apply to cleaning jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to cleaning jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across commercial, healthcare, hospitality, and residential sectors. Search the listings, find roles that match your availability and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
