Human Resources Associate Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a human resources associate in Colorado?
Most Colorado employers require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field as the baseline for an HR associate role. Colorado does not issue a state-specific license to practice HR, so the standard path is earning a nationally recognized credential such as the SHRM-CP or PHR through the HR Certification Institute after meeting the education and experience requirements. Candidates with internship experience or an HR-focused degree typically move into associate roles most directly.
Which companies hire human resources associates in Colorado?
Companies currently hiring human resources associates in Colorado include ADP, Amazon, and KBR, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's concentration of energy companies, defense contractors, and large healthcare systems means HR associate demand remains consistent across multiple industries throughout the year.
Which Colorado cities have the most human resources associate jobs?
Denver, Colorado Springs, and Lakewood have the most human resources associate openings in Colorado. Denver drives the bulk of demand as the state's corporate and government hub, while Colorado Springs benefits from a large defense and military presence anchored by employers like Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Space Force, and Boulder's technology and biotech firms generate steady HR hiring across the Front Range.
Are there remote human resources associate jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than many comparable roles, since much of the day-to-day work in HR coordination involves documentation, systems, and communication that can be handled off-site. About 61% of human resources associate openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly Colorado employers have adopted flexible work arrangements. Benefits administration, HRIS data entry, and recruiting coordination tend to have the highest share of remote-eligible postings.
How can I get hired as a human resources associate in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for HR coordinator or HR assistant roles at large Colorado employers, which routinely hire candidates without prior HR experience and provide structured onboarding. Healthcare systems like UCHealth and SCL Health, along with government agencies such as the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration, run well-defined entry programs for new HR staff. Earning the SHRM-CP or completing a SHRM student membership chapter program, which several Colorado universities support, gives candidates a measurable edge over other applicants at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to human resources associate jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to human resources associate jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings updated regularly. Search for roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
