Overview

Jungle Driving is opening soon in Chandler, AZ and is looking for dependable, patient, and safety-minded individuals to join our team either as Part-Time or Full-Time Driving instructors.

Instructors will work one-on-one with teen students, providing both classroom-based driver education and hands-on-the-wheel instruction to help students develop safe driving habits, sound judgment, and confidence on the road.

We value individuals who can turn a potential stressful learning experience into a positive and confidence-building one.

No prior driving instructor certification? No problem! We are willing to hire the right candidates and provide training to help you become the qualified driving instructor. With a guaranteed pay increase after successful completion of training and required certification.

Compensation:

• Uncertified candidates: Starting at $17/hour during training.
• After successful completion of training and required certification: Pay increases to $22/hour.
• Already certified instructors: $22-$26/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one behind-the-wheel driving instruction to teen students.
• Teach essential driving skills, including turning, lane changes, parking, backing up, merging, and highway instructions.
• Facilitate classroom-based driver education instructions to students on traffic laws, road signs, defensive driving, and safe driving practices using Jungle Driving Curriculum in accordance to ADOT standards.
• Help students develop confidence, awareness, and responsible decision-making behind the wheel.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a calm, patient, and encouraging learning environment.
• Conduct pre- and post-driving vehicle safety checks.
• Maintain accurate student progress records and lesson documentation.
• Communicate professionally with parents, students, and the Jungle Driving team regarding student progress when appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional instructional vehicle.
• Follow all company policies, state regulations, and driver education requirements.

Qualification

• Valid Arizona driver's license.
• Strong driving history and responsible approach to road safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, dependable, and comfortable working with teenagers.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Professional, punctual, and organized.
• Comfortable providing constructive feedback and instruction.
• Must meet applicable Arizona driver instructor certification process and background requirements.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Highschool diploma or GED.
• Minimum state age requirement: 21 years old

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Arizona driving Instructor certification.
• Previous experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or working with teenagers.
• Experience in driver education or behind-the-wheel instruction.

Physical Requirements:

• Comfortable spending extended periods in a vehicle.
• Physical ability to operate an automobile.
• Ability to stand for a prolonged amount of time while facilitating classroom instruction.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Schedule

• Part-time or Full-time positions.
• Hours may vary depending on enrollment and scheduling needs.
• Flexible hours.
